I ran them through Rahasia about 2 years ago and B2 a little after that (though I changed a bit in B2 and it's so easy to modify to your existing campaign, I wasn't as worried about it). But everything TK has been running us through is all new for me, so that's great!

What I did was run them through many of the B series, all connected. So I started with:

DM's Red Box Dungeon
DDA3 Eye of Traldar
Jade Hare
DDA4 Dymrak Dread (began laying hints for B12 here)
B7 Rahasia (more hints)
B2 Keep on the Borderlands (more hints)
B1 - heavily modified
B11 - heavily modified (gnolls instead of orcs, a third level and many references to the Queen)
B12 - modified it too, starting it tonight.

Just one point of clarification, The Known World, before it was changed to Mystara, was part of a campaign from Tom Moldvay and Lawerence Schick. Only later was it added into Blackmoor.

I didn't know how much I didn't know about D&D until I started reading the odd74 forums.

I didn't know any of this. I guess the Known World from the Rules Cyclopedia was originally Blackmoor and it then became Mystara? Cool.

Sigh, still can't find an inexpensive copy of the RC and WoTC doesn't reprint them, just releases the pdfs...

I guess Innana is an anomaly. It would be like one of my brothers taking up clothes shopping. . . and liking it.

I wish I could tell Curt from high school that I am playing an online version of D&D. I used to tease him about summoning up demons and devils (D&D) in his garage.

I really missed out on a lot of fun.

At least you knew someone in highschool playing D&D... I always wanted to play and no one even knew what it was. Hell, I don't even recall how I learned about it but it wasn't from anyone IRL. First time I played was about 5 years and it was online (only time too, rest of my experience IRL was as the reluctant DM) so you can still say I'm new at this.

Thank you for the map. I would like to be able to go on this adventure for the magical items if we survive this "little side trip". I guess Innana just needs to beeeee positive.

Saul, I think the way you think is refreshing, and fun. You add a lot to the game.

I feel you Al. I was waiting on the sidelines for months while they had their tower adventure. Hang in there.

Aw, I'm good. :) Just whining a little. But not really. I have lots of patience. Besides, I'm highly entertained by surprises like tarantalic, bee-friendly thistle!

Hmmm... yes, I do have that in my signature already, don't I? What can I say? Mystics are so... mysterious! Never played one; thought I'd give it a try.

Unfortunate for you lot, though, one of his skills is "bee keeping"!

OK, not really.

TK, would you please confirm a couple things for me? I need to be clear on my understanding of this predicament, before I can declare Bregalad's intentions.

1. Has Bregalad just experienced 3 rounds of attacks from the plant? (I recall being poisoned and damaged for 3 points in the surprise round, taking 5 points of damage in the following round, and now burned for 1 point and possibly brought to 0 from the plant again this last round.)

If 3 rounds have indeed elapsed, then the antidote will not work for me. For as Lanny noted..... Antidote (175 gp):If taken within two rounds of coming in contact with non-magical poison the target is allowed a second saving throw with a +2 bonus.

2. Are you able to state whether this poison is lethal or not? If it is not right for you to answer this question, then Bregalad must assume the poison will kill him, judging by the fast acting effects on his body.

Thanks.
Yes, there have been three rounds of attacks. I know, it's weird. Bregalad actually has a better AC than Thordin, but the dwarf has been extremely lucky when it comes to being hit. I'm just assigning random targets for the plant.
The poison is not lethal, but paralytic.
Bregalad the elf

Thanks, TK. If the poison was lethal, Bregalad's next decision would have been simple. Knowing that it is paralytic makes things more complicated for him.

By-the-way, this particular game and your DM'ing have been awesome! This has been thoroughly enjoyable and captivating!

The wholly unexpected part of this, however, is that this game has made me examine my real life situation and personal beliefs. I am a healthy male, with a decent job, normal intelligence and average looks, who has a beautiful and loving wife and wonderful children. Life for me is good!

But, what if things were not good for me? Say maybe my body is broken or terminally ill, or maybe every decision I make from this point onward ends in failure? Maybe my intentions are good ones, but the randomness of life (the Dice Roller of real life?) or the system in which I exist squashes each of my desires. How should I feel? Should I curse the world like some tragic Shakespearean hero? Should I crudely flip off the world and everything in it? Should I give in to the influence of others, and have things turn out OK for me, but then possibly feel an undercurrent of regret each day of my life?

No, I know that each of those options are by their very nature the wrong ones. I should live my life by following what I feel in my core to be right -- and be open enough to learn from others, and accept their advice when it resonates with my internal sense of "rightness".

Now back to Bregalad. Who is he at his core? He is an elf, strong yet frail, who despite his frailty loves the excitement of combat, and does not fear death or failure in battle! And he lives to protect his friends and those in need, especially damsels in distress! So, his current situation is exactly where he wants to be! The Dice Roller may thwart every one of his actions, it may appear that it is singling him out. But the elf will show the immortal Roller that he will continue to act true to his core!

FYI -- if the elf does indeed die, his spirit will probably come back as a hidey halfing or human archer!

Well said. I see you're not keen on resurrecting your character too. If Saul dies I might play another thief to help the group (already have a backup concept, that's why I'm spending some money on the XP reserve) but he's going to explore whatever is beyond this world. Only exception is if he has some unfinished business but at this exact point in time he could die happy.

Like Saul, I hope you live this one out Bregalad, but if you do not, it would be good to see you come back. The group could use a Hobbit because Hobbits are hard to surprise, and it could help us avoid attacks better.

Innana will miss the unlucky elf if he goes through. Hoping he lives to see some good fighting days. He has a hero's heart. If you end up seeing this one through, Innana will make you a lucky charm. Guess what it will be. Yep, a six sided dice with no number one, or two on it. Just three sixes. LOL.
