Sir William Narramore

Narramore does his best to encourage their beast to close the gap, plowing straight ahead to either crash into or gain on the foremost lizard. "Come alongside and push him off the path!" He suggests to the Princess.

If they can get within striking distance, he'll take a swing.

Which I cannot do because the dice roller is undergoing maintenance. Lol.

Daisy
Daisy is in only slightly better shape than Dex. We'll just *pant* keep up best pace until we *pant* find our friends.

The Princess

She shouts in common "Get ready! I'm going to pass on his left!"

With an encouraging word and gentle urging, she hopes to have the mount have a final burst forward and feint to the left, and jerk to the right. Trying to get past enough to pit him.

Three Groups Are More Than One
Godsday, 23rd of Goodmonth
Early Afternoon, Overcast, Warm, Humid

The two groups of runners continue to run, while the riders get some action.

The Princess is starting to get the hang of steering the big green mount under her, hanging onto the leather reigns tightly as they race along the trail. Her trick to fool the dwarf in front of them works to perfection, thanks to the dwarfs limited understanding of the common tongue. She gets her lizard right up behind their target, pulling up alongside it in the confusion to give the paladin some options.

A successful Hard Dex check will allow you to leap from your lizard to his, giving you the advantage of being behind him while he is still in the saddle. Or you could try a mounted attack with a weapon, though you would be subject to a counter, since you need to be close enough to do so.

Actions?

Jaxsen 10/19
Liam 4/9

Dexter 8/23
Daisy 11/16 1/3 first 2/2 second
Sophie AC:4 2/6

Narramore 12/12 LOH
Princess 5/5 CL, DM, RM 0/1 first

Dexter Broadleaf

For the first time this trip, Dexter is satisfied with the degree of silence being shown. Between the soft, almost inaudible steps of the two Halflings, and the equally quiet running of the broad padded feet of Sophie the Badger, the trio runs quieter than most groups can sneak. He smiles to himself and uses the quiet to strain his ears for what lies ahead.

Jaxsen Reiter

Jaxsen continues to keep a close watch on their surroundings, subtly adding Liam to the watch. The Monk appreciates the sturdiness of the older man, but makes sure to keep an eye out for any sign of over-exertion as they run.

Liam

Coughs and turns his head to spit but other than that just keeps his feet moving. His eyes scan mostly ahead of them, worried about running into a returning patrol more than an ambush from their flank at the moment. Occasionally he will look upward to check for danger in that direction out of sheer habit.

The Princess

The Princess manages to pull alongside the slower dwarf, giving the brave and handsome Sir Narramore an opening. She keeps focusing on her driving but takes the opportunity to shout at her dwarven opponent.

In dwarven: "Your mother grew a patchy beard!"

I will bump this forward in time so you two have something to do.
Jaxsen slows his pace to stay close enough to the aging Liam, their run made much worse by the heat, humidity, and constant bugs flying in their faces. Keeping their senses trained on their surroundings, they believe they are getting close to the intersection with the main loggers trail again. Before they can verify any landmarks, they begin to hear the heavy foot falls of a few lizards charging towards them from around the next bend in the trail.

Dexter and Daisy continue running along the western trail, little Sophie huffing badly behind them. They don't see or hear any signs of the others in front of them yet, but are grateful they still don't hear any more horns from either direction.

The Princess continues to urge her lizard forward, pulling up directly alongside the dwarf on his mount. Her dwarven insult is returned with another. "Ya? So does yers, ya pointy eared bitch! Come on along a little further and I'll introduce ya to the others!"

Narramore doesn't waste any time with his attack, swinging at the dwarf with his sword as they pass. He cant muster his usual power from his seated position, but the blow strikes the dwarf hard, cutting a large slice in his upper arm as he tries to return the attack with a feeble counter of his own. He spurs and strikes his lizard, but the rough tactics only seem to slow the beast of burden down a little more, allowing the Princess to keep up with him if she desires.

Liam

The odler man reaches over and gives Jaxsen something between a tap and a smack on the shoulder make sure he has his attention as he twist around and ducks into the vegetation on the north side of the trail to hide from the oncoming charge, hopefully before they are seen.

Daisy
Dexter, honey- we need a break. Daisy stops, kneeling down as close to the trees on the left side of the trailas possible to give Sophie some water before she drinks.
If Sophie needs additional First Aid, she'll give it. Five minutes rest, and then she'll be ready to carry on.

Sir William Narramore

I think I did it right this time!

[1d20+3]=10+3=13, [1d8+6]=2+6=8

Narramore curses and takes another swing, eager to topple the foul little man.

The Princess

"Is that all you've got? You too? And pointy-eared? Next you'll be insulting me about my smooth skin and flowing hair!" She continues the taunting, hoping to rattle him a bit. "I'm not worried about the others, I'd be able to smell them by now if they were close!"

She seems to be quite enjoying her outing.

Jaxsen Reiter

Jaxsen quickly dodges off the trail and into the foliage with Liam. He is careful to move any foliage he has displaced back into its original position before pulling back and going in to still-and-quiet mode.

Dexter Broadleaf

"Yes, ma'am." Dexter says as he drops down into the brush besides Daisy. "How is she?" He asks, pointing towards Sophie before he goes quiet and starts keeping a watch around them.

Triple Threat
Godsday, 23rd of Goodmonth
Early Afternoon, Overcast, Hot, Humid

Near the Loggers Trail:
After hearing the noise, Liam gets himself and Jaxsen off the middle of the trail, hiding in some bushes at the edge of the tree line. The heavy footfalls continue to get louder, and eventually the smaller group of dwarves they met up with earlier on the loggers trail can be seen heading towards them in a westerly direction. They aren't moving fast, or with any kind of purpose, and it looks like they will simply pass by if the pair remains hidden.

Behind the Fighting:
Still trying to catch up to the others, Daisy and Dexter take a quick break from their slow jog to give Sophie a drink. They hear the feint tell-tale sound of swords clashing against armor up ahead of them on the trail, so they know they cant be too far behind. Daisy suggests a 5 minute break, but Dexter looks around awfully nervous, ready to continue their chase as soon as possible.

The Battle Of Dwarf Trail:
Unable to fight in his usual aggressive manner from the back of the fat green horse, Narramore continues to swing away at the mounted dwarf all the same. The lone dwarf is able to deflect the oncoming blow this time, and gets in a lucky counter of his own in turn, slicing the side of the paladins neck open with a nasty new wound. 5 dam The pair of mounted lizards continue to bound up the trail as the fight rages on their backs. The surly dwarf appears about to answer the Princesses retort, but then stops abruptly, looking suddenly towards the side of the trail in front of him. I will take a Hard [4d6] Wis check with your next actions here, please.

Sir William Narramore

[4d6]=15 VS WIS 15

The knight grimaces, using the pain from the solid return blow to fuel his next attack.

[1d20+3]=10+3=13, [1d8+6]=4+6=10

Craaap. He drops three in a row and can't even manage to hit one now. The dice giveth and the dice taketh away. Don't die, Narramore!

Liam whispers to Jaxsen Our friends are about to get pinched on both sides. The only thing I can think of is hamstring the lizards
and pray we can fight these dwarves ourselves. Ideas?

Jaxsen Reiter

Jaxsen's face takes a stoic turn. "We did not decide on this route to outflank the Stoneguts, but rather to warn the people of Beachtown that our hive may be in danger. If we do attack the Dwarves, then we risk the town being taken unaware. But... I am but a grub, and will defer to the wisdom of my elders, Liam."
