So? It's a well-organised office, and NCOs appreciate efficient Admin. He'd probably taken his jacket off to go through her drawers, no doubt impressed by how tidy she'd kept the contents.
Speaking of innuendo...

Well, I'll match you with the below. Very kind comparisons have been drawn between this game and The Eagle has Landed and I'll admit there's also an element of Where Eagles Dare.

However, for the real inside track on the making of the latter and antics on and off set here's the very witty Derren Nesbitt (the Gestapo officer):

I like Eagle Has Landed, but I re-watch Went The Day Well more often ( same basic story, earlier version ):

Yes, I've seen that.

You can tell it was made in 1942 absolutely no charismatic axis anti heroes in this version!

No, but plenty of plucky civilians and strong, heroic women. Which is nice. Different times.

Completely agree.

Should have weighed in on this earlier!

Anything which adds to clarity, promotes the author's intent and identifies the tone and context of otherwise "bald text" (which could be misconstrued) must be positive.

As a fiction writer (note the lack of "best selling and internationally known" qualifier), showing intent, ownership, and sequence is always a challenge. But translating something "in character" can be a fun exercise, too. For example, Prerna had gotten a glimpse of some other unit in the pirate encounter. I wanted to find out of this was the same group, or not. Instead of an OOC where I asked of the Chefsergeant's outfit looked familiar, I had Jakob say something specifically to Prerna.
Major, eyes on, please. Does this look like the boys that helped us out earlier?"
That took me a couple minutes to figure out, but I like the characterization it provides. Jakob is a fast thinker, respects his chain of command, and will pull in the data he needs. I don't always do this successfully, but when I do it's fun.

Jakob has a very high Morale (15), but like most actual combat veterans he doesn't swagger or yell. He just states the facts with confidence.
"Otherwise, I'm going to miss those sausages and have to bury an honorable soldier."
He's letting the Chefsergeant know that while he may respect the soldier, if it comes down to it then Jakob expects to win. The Chefsergeant is experienced enough to know that Jakob isn't bluffing or blustering.

Prerna realises that Baker having stencilled "GHOSTMAK" on his rifle is in part explained by this local phenomenon and in part by idiotic failure in forward planning...

I expect he vocalised the missing letters when he got to them.

On a more serious note the phenomenon brought to mind a Keith Douglas poem:

Well, let's see. Jakob recruits an Intelligence Officer, Prerna has a close associate in the formerly opposing forces, and Jess is getting along well with one of the Guard leaders.

We're building unit capabilities "the old fashioned way".

Prerna's version of that poop is a 12.7x63.5mm 285gr superdense core ceramic projectile, and it arrives at 7000+fps out to it's 2000m working range.
