The desperate firefight continues, the large reinforced desk serving as ample cover for both sides. Silas manages to graze the guard's hand as he pokes his pistol over the counter to attack, and a few seconds later an alarm echoes. SECURITY ALERT. ALL PERSONNEL TO COMBAT STATIONS. ПРЕДУПРЕЖДЕНИЕ СИСТЕМЫ БЕЗОПАСНОСТИ. ВЕСЬ ПЕРСОНАЛ НА Боевые станции. The warning repeats on loop as the guard stays ducked down behind the desk...

The guard made his second morale check, for some reason he seems determined to fight you guys to the death.

Romer will sneak around to the side of the desk, get prone and fire at the guard, peeking only enough of his head and weapon to make the shot (and hopefully provide cover while defeating the guard's).

With a steely eye, Damian appraises the situation. They're hurried now... they need to move faster. With surprise now gone, perhaps a direct route east rather than detouring through the rooms behind the desk. Leaving the gunfight to the pistoleros, Damian drops to a knee and frisks the dead guard at his feet. Does he have any transferrable means of protection (shield), a removable security fob, access cards, keys? If the lock was biometric, the medic stomps with his boot on a leverage point to hear the snap and then pulls out his long knife and hacks the guard's hand at the forearm. He hopes it doesn't come to that.

With an impressively theatrical flourish, Silas dispatches the second guard and leaves the team alone in the lobby. A few tense seconds pass as they reposition themselves for any incoming hostiles, but the solid securidoors remain tightly closed. Damian's investigation reveals a similar biometric ID to the one on the dead guard; assuming Benedict cannot access the doors remotely, the doctor's more grizzly method will prove brutally effective. All the while, the automated alert remains active.

Benedict hops over to the guard's access station and attempts to hack into the system disable the alarm.

P1LF3R works swiftly, now intimately familiar with the complex's system. Within minutes the blaring dual-lingual alarms are disabled, leaving only the more distant sounds of combat and chaos emanating from outside; less than a minute later he silences these too, as the facility's main doors slide smoothly shut and secure themselves in preventative entry mode. The hacker has control of all the facility's doors from this terminal now.

Damian exhales a held breath. "Seal the doors to the barracks," he tells P1LF3R, pointing to the north and south doorways, "and then lets get the cells opened," pointing eastward. "If you can identify which cell has our girl, lets open hers first. We can rig the other cells to open once she's sorted, yeah?"

With the immediate threat seemingly over, Silas holsters his pistol and checks out the burn the guard left him with, grimacing as he does.

He turns to the others and complains to no one in particular: "This sure does sting... would you believe it's been years since I'd last been shot? Well, directly, anyway."

He grunts once more and goes to check out the hacker at work. "Any luck?"

After gaining control of the cameras, Benedict shares the live feeds with the rest of the team. The facility seems mostly the same as it appeared in the older floorpans the hacker obtained previously, though the evidence storage room to the north seems to have been repurposed into something far more sinister, if the heavy alloyed chain attached to wall and the layer of blood are anything to go by. A uniformed security guard seems to be frantically searching though a weapon stockpile in this room, and one more is making his way from the complex's docking bay towards the lobby you currently occupy. Two more soldiers, wearing the heavier armour that the erstwhile MG was equipped with are visible on the bay, seemingly watching over a starship with its access hatch open. One final guard is using the holding cell's access terminal to the east, and a battered looking man with distinctive red hair is curled up against one of the cots, behind solid metal bars. There is nobody else visible on the cameras; no sign of Katya Novaro.

The moment of this realisation, Damian's comm alerts him to a message from Ivana. The woman sounds annoyed, and the distant sound of combat can be heard in the background. "My people got back to me about your boat; it seems it was listed as missing shortly after being commandeered by the military about a week ago. Just vanished from the systems. We thought it was a glitch, but it's not the only ship to have been lost like this. Sorry I couldn't be more help, Dami, but this isn't usual. What the fuck is on this planet lately, eh? I'll let you know if anything else comes up, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Stay safe."

Ivana may not know where the Vale of Tears is, but Damian does; it's staring at him from the camera feeds, primed on the facility's docking bay.

"Сын шлюхи без матери!" curses Damian. "That's my ship!"

He turns to Silas. "If they have it primed, that's our ride out. Let's hope fate smiles and Katya is on-board... don't let it off the platform without you at the wheel." He turns to Benedict. "Let's open all the doors, and check for records on what the Блядь happened to Katya. Romer, you and I find if that prisoner knows anything about her and then we all clear out up that ramp to reach the ship," he finishes, pointing to the northern door leading up to the launch bay. "Yeah? Let's go."

Romer looks over Benedict's shoulder. If he determines which cell hold the girl, Romer will head that way post haste to find her and lead her out.

Is uncharacteristically flustered, his own plans becoming muddled. As the north and south doors seal shut, he takes a deep breath and says to Silas and P1LF3R, "Check footage for when she went and make sure that ship doesn't get away... okay?"

He doesn't wait for response, hurrying after Romer to reach the cells. As Romer visibly checks the cells for if Katya is off-camera, Damian stops at the red-headed man and opens his door. "Your chance to get out of here, bud. First, the girl - which cell? Where'd she go?"

Silas grins at Damian: "Aye, doc, you bet I know how to treat a lady. Wouldn't let her leave unescorted."
He examines the camera feed carefully, trying to see if there are any visual indicators of how the ship might be secured.

Deciding on a plan of action, Benedict initiates a security override lock on the specified doors and then begins scanning through the camera records for any sign of Katya, as Silas keeps an eye on the live feeds on another monitor. Romer and Damian rush to the cells, but are interrupted by a confused HF security guard who peers around his desk and then errs on the side of violence, drawing his laser pistol on you and clearly intending to shoot.

Damian instinctively waves his hand and calculates the mathematical equation aloud, invoking a mote of pure oblivion in the location of the guard. He then moves for cover, trying to avoid getting shot and hoping Romer's pistol is as good as his claims.
