Piercing The Sky
Godsday, 23rd of Goodmonth
Late Morning, Hot, Humid, Buggy

Pulling Feanol out of the danger area overhead, the piercer is yanked from her shoulder and tossed to the side for Keg to bisect with his giant scalpel. The wound the creature caused is rather gnarly looking and still pouring out blood. 1 dam If something isn't done to patch her up soon, she will surely die here on the jungle floor.

Darklin fires off two arrows into the remaining hanging monsters, dropping another from its perch as its friends already on the ground continue to slowly crawl back towards the cliff wall again. The sound his second shot makes gives the elf pause, and when he investigates the cause, he finds that his bowstring appears quite frayed and about to snap. crits and shits:viewtopic.php?p=291713#p291713

Once there are no longer any targets under the rocky overhang, the monsters stop dropping to the ground.

Seeing the gashing wound, Elnaerel rushes and calls upon the might of Ehlenestra to cure her kinswoman.

Darklin

Darklin unstrings the bow and starts mulling over how he will replace it. Secures it to his back and draws his long sword.

The Knife

Once he sees that Elnaerel's magic has been so effective and he's no longer needed, The Knife ducks back under cover.

Keg

Looks over the rim of his shield for more targets. Without looking back at the others who are behind him. Everyone alright? Anyone see any more of those damn things? Figures that the dirt here is half decent but looks like we are going to have our work cut out for us with pest control around these cliffs...

Keyon

If their wizard will cease her repeated attempts at dying, Keyon will help her to a sitting position and apprise her of the situation. He also assures himself that they're out of reach of the leaping horrors, then draws another dagger. "Good here," he calls back to Keg, putting pressure on the gash on his arm.

Dragging And Climbing
Godsday, 23rd of Goodmonth
Late Morning, Hot, Humid, Buggy

With everyone out of danger now, Feanol is healed by the graces of Ehlenestra before being brought up to speed on their current situation.

No longer posing any threat, and fairly vulnerable as they crawl back towards their elevated perch, the strange jungle piercers continue their slow escape from arrow and sword.

Assessing the damage, Keg comments that this place will need further cleansing if it is ever to be used as a new location for the town.

Keyon

He sends the slow beasts a baleful glare. "Shall we mop these up while they're vulnerable?" He asks with a look at Keg. "Unless they have some abilities of which we're ignorant, they look like easy prey now."

Keyon hurls his hand-axe at the nearest piercer, just for spite. "Little bastard," he mutters darkly.

The Knife

The Knife draws several darts from his bandolier. He's about to join in with the attempt to finish off the stranded piercers when a thought occurs to him.

He looks up at the cliff face, trying to spot any more of the creatures. "If there are more up there, they'll drop on you when you try to get your axe back", he points out to Keyon.

Keyon

The elf nods with a sigh. "Aye. Venting my spleen might cost me a good axe, hey?" He grins. "Though that's less than it's cost me other times." Keyon glances at Keg. "Perhaps you'll be kind enough to catch them instead of me," he says with a playful wink. "One more good wallop and I'm fishbait."

Elnaerel prefers to look at the rock ceiling, trying to assess if there's any of the creatures up there... In case they're discernible from common stalactites, that is. "This place is dangerous for a settlement..." She sighs. "Killing these beasts might make it less dangerous, but I don't know the amount of work we'll need if we're to... clean this places of monsters." She seems dubious. "I don't like the idea of tearing down a part of the jungle, but it's true that those farmers back in town need a better chance. I'll do my best to repay my goddess once this is settled." She finally adds with a wiry smile. "Maybe people will appreciate her kindness."

Keg

Looks over to Elnaerel. Well, what would she do for us here? Would she rather us hack down a clearing in the jungle or put together an extermination squad and clear out this side of the river? I respect the gods and all, but they either need to help or get out of the way.

Feanol

The young wizard finally relaxes as she feels the surge from Elnaerel's prayers healing her. "Thanks so much dear sister. You know you can count on my help in your works here." Before Keyon wanders off to hack on the beasts "Thanks, I hope I wasn't too heavy a burden." Giving him a smile and a blush (against her will). Although feeling fine she still sits and observes closely before getting up and moving around tentatively.

Going Back For Seconds
Godsday, 23rd of Goodmonth
Late Morning, Hot, Humid, Buggy

Keyon hits one of the ugly looking looking creatures with a toss of his hand ax, getting a concerning question from The Knife about how he intends to recover his ax now that he has thrown it back under the overhang where the monsters are still roosting.

While the ladies play it safe, wisely staying away from the danger area, Keg and Darklin wade right back under the outcropping to kill the fleeing vulnerable snail-like beasts where they fell, tempting a few more of their number to drop upon them. Keg is barely able to dodge the first pair of hungry missiles as he kills one of the grounded targets, but Darklin's shoulder is punctured by a third, nearly knocking him out in the process, and causing him to drop his sword next to the thief's ax. 4 dam

The monsters on the ground have no way to return the attack, but the ones remaining above continue to whistle down through the air. There appears to be about another dozen or so of them awaiting a target of their own to drop on.

Elnaerel frowns at Keg's assertion. "Although I understand your... concern, the goddess of the woods will show mercy by accepting these hungered peoples in her home, the woods. And, just in case, it's thanks to Her that Feanol, The Kinfe and Darklin got their wounds cured. That should be enough of a sign of who she is supporting." She cross her arms and raises an eyebrow when she sees the warriors going back to the area where the piercers are. Her demeanor changes when Darklin is struck by one of the strange animals. "Darklin, no! ... Get out of there, you all! I don't have the capabilty of calling upong my goddess' powers for the rest of the day, don't get yourselves innecesarilly killed!"

The Knife

The Knife opens his mouth to add to Elnaerel's warning. Then remembers that he already warned the others that this would happen before they stepped back into the drop-zone. He shrugs, and waits to see if everyone will make it out on their own two feet.

Keyon

The rakish elf grins at Feanol, allowing his bouyant humor to obscure the genuine concern he felt at his companion's fall. "Some burdens I'm happy to bear," he says before steeling himself to make a run for Darklin or Keg if they should fall. He grimaces at the notion of dragging the enormous human back to safety. "You're a big lug," he calls to Keg. "I may not have enough grunt to pull your musclebound hide back if you should fall, so be careful."
