Re: Pregame Q&A
We're at 5th level, so the Fly spell is now available. AL doesn't allow Aarakocra without specific exceptions because they can fly at 1st level. With the current AL season, Tieflings and Aasimar characters can, if the players wish, trade out a racial feature for wings and the ability to fly at 5th level. My Tiefling Paladin definitely took that deal! Anyway, with the Fly spell and magic items that weren't available until 5th level, as well as Druids being able to wild shape into flyers later in the tier, the game definitely plays in vertical spaces much more readily in Tier 2.Monsieur Rose wrote:Flying. Some people and the AL don't want flying characters at a low level, like the Aarakocra. What are your thoughts?

Re: Pregame Q&A
Hadrian HP roll: [4d10] = 23 2nd thru 5th level HP
Add in 10 HP for 1st level and 5 HP for CON bonuses and he's starting with 38.
EDIT: Nothing like a Waterdhavian Noble with the lowest possible starting gold roll: Starting Gold: [1d10x25] = 1x25 = 25

Re: Pregame Q&A
If we have starting money left over, can we keep it in gems rather than gold?
Re: Pregame Q&A
I haven't detailed it (it will be simple), but there will be a bank nearby where excess coins can be safely deposited (and avoid extra encumbrance).sulldawga wrote:If we have starting money left over, can we keep it in gems rather than gold?

Re: Pregame Q&A
Ok, I bought:
Bag of Ball Bearings
Bag of Caltrops
Scroll Case
Bullseye Lantern
Steel Mirror
Oil Flask x5
Parchment x2
Sack x2 (empty)
extra Waterskin (full)
for 19 gp.
I've got 10 days of food and one day of water.
I think I'm ready to go.
Can we assume I've got a couple bits of charcoal to draw a map on the parchment? I don't want to mess with ink and a pen in the dungeon.
EDIT: I can have two bonded weapons as an Eldritch Knight. So I am bonded to my Longsword and my Whip.

Re: Pregame Q&A
Please add these details as a note on your character sheet, or at least add them in your private forum. They're going to get lost in here.sulldawga wrote:I can have two bonded weapons as an Eldritch Knight. So I am bonded to my Longsword and my Whip.
And it's fine if you want to use charcoal for drawing.

Re: Pregame Q&A
Are we using the US character sheet or the one on D&D Beyond?
Re: Pregame Q&A
To the extent that my opinion matters, I'd prefer to only have to keep track of my PC in one place. And I personally prefer D&D Beyond.

It accommodates 5e so much better.

Re: Pregame Q&A
The character sheet on the Die Roller is ill-suited for 5th edition D&D. I pretty much only fill out the most basic info- name, class, race, just so I can better identify the character when looking at the list. That sheet is really just a placeholder so I can create macros in the Die Roller.

Re: Pregame Q&A
Dave, are you okay with me using the roller (orokos) that I'm using for the game I'm running? It's what I'm used to, function-wise, and I find the US dice roller somewhat clunky (probably because I haven't used it much). If it's okay with you I'll link to all my results.
Re: Pregame Q&A
It is nice to have all the rolls for the campaign all linked in the same place (here), but let me take a look a the site you mention since I'm not familiar with it.thirdkingdom wrote:Dave, are you okay with me using the roller (orokos) that I'm using for the game I'm running? Actually, I just checked and it is requiring me to create an account in order to access the die roller.
Can you tell me, does it allow me to see a full history or log of all rolls made by a character, or will it be just links to each individual roll made? I'd almost rather create the macros in the US die roller that your character would need to use so all you'd need to do is click a button and I'd have everything I needed (and all rolls, by all players and mine as the DM, will be stored in the same place).

Re: Pregame Q&A
You can see all the rolls I've ever made: https://orokos.com/roll/m-thirdkingdom and sort them by description, campaign, etc. I usually don't add a campaign name, since 99% of my rolls are for the games I run. I'm very above board with my rolls as DM, and link to all of them in game in spoilers. I can certainly use the US roller, though, if needed.
Re: Pregame Q&A
Surprisingly, I had access to the link you shared with all your rolls (but not the site itself). I suppose if you added some detail to any rolls made for this game (e.g. Character or Campaign) so I could easily identify it, I'm fine to let you use it.thirdkingdom wrote:You can see all the rolls I've ever made: https://orokos.com/roll/m-thirdkingdom and sort them by description, campaign, etc.

Re: Pregame Q&A
It looks like Lika, the Aarakocra Warlock, is ready. Maybe.
