Sumer watches Ribar in repose; her mind of science and meta science working. "Perhaps it is not destruction that is needed, but redirecting. We have been thinking about how to break it all along, but what about changing it...sprucing it up!"
Immediately adjacent to, and only accessible via, the Mortal world is the Shadow Realm, a land of death and gloom where souls go upon death and demons lurk. Faery has its equivalent, the Dry Lands, which is theorized to be simila to the mortal Shadow Realms. However, one must pass through Faery in order to enter the Dry Lands.
Interwoven between all of these are the elemental planes, which contain the basic building blocks of all matter.
It is clear to Sumer that the temple is a gate somewhere, a gate that exists in both places at once. Her best guess is that the strange, reddish sky exists either in Faery or the Shadow Realm. Would destroying the temple destroy the gate? She cannot say with any certainty. She does, however, know that sanctifying temples can be accomplished either through the casting of spells or the sprinkling of holy water, after any implements or symbols of evil have been removed.
