[Placeholder greeting]

#1 Post by Lucas »

Hey, everyone! I found my way here from a Reddit post earlier this week. I've been playing tabletop for 15-20 years starting with D&D 3.5 and have been involved in online/forum RP longer still. I'm lucky to be in an offline dedicated weekly tabletop group of amazing people for the past 5 years with which I've played a number of D&D 5e and Blades in the Dark campaigns.

I've spent the past couple years trying to get involved in some more narrative-based groups on Discord and forums as my offline group tends to prefer a highly mechanics-based and combat focus. I've always been a big fan of RP and I love writing, and sadly my old pbp forum community went slowly inactive as people migrated away from forums and lost interest.

I'm a longtime fan of Vampire: the Masquerade (Revised/V20), which is remarkably difficult to find a group for, have lately been learning the Stars Without Number system, and I love learning new tabletop rule systems. I'm very happy to see that the forums on this board are open to the public to read through, so I'll be looking around at some of the different styles of games until something opens up that I feel comfortable jumping into.

It's awesome to seen an active forum RP community still around! Wish I'd found this place much sooner.

Welcome Lucas! Glad you found us. :)
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Hello! Nice to meet you. There are a bunch of great players and DMs on these forums, and new games open fairly often. Plus the established games sometimes re-recruit. So plenty of opportunities to get in ... I think ybn1197 just recently started a VtM game, Baltimore By Night. Maybe he has an opening?

Welcome!
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.
