Re: Chapter 3: Taverns and New Adventures
Later that Day: On the Road
Year 1000 AC: Month: Ambyrmont Day: 16: start of the journey Time: 10:00am
The weather starts to look like a storm is coming and the group decides the 12 miles of walking has best get underway since the sky is starting to cloud up and look very gray with a light breeze picking and the smell of the coming rain in the air. All business concluded and all things paid for the group gathers their things and sets off they can cover the 12 mile trek in the day and arrive at nightfall. The rain starts to fall as the group leaves Stallanford. There is little pedestrian traffic on the road, and no wagons or horses at all. The bad weather appears to have made most people leave travel until the next day or at least until the storm is over. So the travel is peaceful enough aside from the light rain and wind.
Year 1000 AC: Month: Ambyrmont Day: 16: end of the journey Time: 4:00pm
After about 6 hours or so you would estimate, toward early evening the group finds themselves standing at the bottom of a path leading to several large houses atop a slight hill. Walking up the path, everyone soon sees a noticeably fine house with some marble statues in its grounds. The iron gates have some interesting, unusual designs wrought on them. All of the magic-users in the group recognise the designs are actually runes, magic runes like those used in spellcasting of the arcane nature. This leads to determining that this must be the wizard Kavorquian's home. The gates open easily enough. Your boots crunch on the gravel as you make your way to the house. As everyone arrives, a liveried manservant steps on to the porch outside the front door to light the lamps on the lintel.

Urtesi waits and observes, as Rex and Therick have already stated what the group's business is well enough.

Manservant upon hearing the groups business the manservant frowns slightly and sighs before he speaks "I hate to inform but the master has passed. If it is Kavorquian you seek you are too late he died in his bed three weeks ago. However if you will permit me a minute I will go speak with the current lord of the house and if you wait here someone will be out to speak with you shortly." that said he heads back into the house, which you are not let into at the moment, and he shuts the door.

Contemplating what to do next... when the door opens and an elaborately dressed butler greets you "Sorry for the wait. I am Cale please come in." the butler users you all in through the hall to a lounge. "Might any of you like a glass of fine whine while you wait?" he asks/offers. "I'll inform the master he has guests. Is there anything else you would like me to relay to him?"

Xlore- Kavorquian dead? Being of his profession, thinking that something may out of sort. Therik may we speak to you first before you get your master? I would like to know what kind wizard your last master was. Did he stave off some great evil in the area?

Therick says, "He ment me Cale. Xlore, my teacher is from the Elf Lands, I do not think he ever knew Kavorquian personally , and neither do I.",
"So Cale, you sure Kavorquian, isn't a lich now? or just in hiding because he already got word and is in danger?"

Cale "Ah very well that is good to know as I did forget to ask what are your names? I would like to know them before the master comes to see you, and you will all be guests for dinner. As for the late master Kavorquian he is quite dead not a lich by any means that I am aware of. Please if you will save your questions for Lord Kaerin Penhaligon I would appreciate it."
