will, if time allows, zip back to Reggie once more and ask, while catching his breath:"O venerable and prosperous merchant mage; it occurred to me that stocking up on more scrolls might be a good idea. Do you have any left, at the same good value ? I am searching for such that will increase protection during, hmm... perilous encounters. Have you any Protection from Evil, Shield or such like ? Or any other trinkets imbued with an aura of safeguarding."

Re: Chapter 2: The adventure continues...
OOC:A sign hangs on the door gone fishin' we're closed sorry. Just kidding.
Reggie jumps with a start from the frantic way Talrand entered his shop while he was reading a scroll. "Uh wha?! Oh gosh it's you again master Talrand. You almost made me have heart failure." he says regaining his composure. "Didn't your parents ever teach you not to sneak up like that on your elders? Eh?" he scolds in that voice that sounds of wisdom that comes with age. "Yes yes I have the same items I mentioned when you were here yesterday though amulets and rings are very expensive, the scrolls and potions are the cheaper options still. Armor scrolls if you want protection or resist fire. I suppose if you'd not mind being my test subject I could have you use this potion I've worked on. Similar to the spells like armor and with a twist, this potion will do similar as if you were wearing armor. I haven't quite decided what to call it. Basically you drink this and it'll give you the effect of wearing chain mail armor, with a slight chance to deflect normal projectiles like arrows, darts and bolts. It'll last until you take a certain amount of damage. But mind you it's experimental only got the one bottle of it. There is a slight chance it could turn you into a lizardman for 6 hours." Essentially this lowers your ac as if wearing studded leather and has a 25% chance to deflect normal ranged attacks but not spells. The potion lasts like the armor spell until a certain set of damage has been dealt. 10 points of damage +1 per level of the being that consumes it. But it is experimental there is a chance that only the DM knows that it could have odd affects.

makes a suitable excuse for springing himself on the old man, then considers the creative idea of being a guinea pig for new exotic remedies. Deciding that a random chance of turning into a lizard man would go against his verily nature of lawfulness in several ways, he politely declines.... "Most interesting, Sir Reginald, I thank you for a generous initiative and suggestion. I would very much be interested in such a product once it has been, let's say, battle-tested and the side effects clearly defined and/or controlled. I will, however, mention this new product to my fellow travellers.
No, the armour and fire protection scrolls are probably more suitable for me at this time. Could you describe them in more detail, and price, please ? "

Reggie nods and puts away the experimental potion "Yes yes I see it's not a very high chance of becoming a lizard man mind but I understand. Armor scroll with a single charge would be 200 gold. A fire protection would cost a fairly higher price 2,000 gold, but fire resistance is cheaper only 400 gold. A Fire Shield scroll would be 800 gold. Speaking of which i have a shield scroll same price as the Armor scroll. Thats per spell charge on the scroll mind you."

with a sinking feeling he realises that a) he's completely out of his depth budget-wise and b) that's only because of his ill-planned armour purchase earlier. Shrewd investments are obviously not Talrand's forte. "Ah, indeed, all very interesting - a splendid range of useful items you have there. Thank you once again for another professional presentation. Please excuse me while I take a short stroll to contemplate your offers. If I do not return immediately it does not mean I am not interested - far from it!" and makes a 'very impressed' face, before bowing out.
Outside, he heads back to the inn, clutching his purse - its contents are going to have to last a while. He joins the others without saying too much.

although just now having intended to keep quiet, starts blabbing to Xlore - "Yes it really seems to suit you better than me. I am deeply honoured by your offer for payment - such a lawful sense of right is most rare among most of, ehm, the pilfering profession that I have met. If you insist, I will accept one hundred an fifty gold coins. Originally it was five hundred - so by this transaction we would both be helping each other.
And yes - Reggie does have an astonishing assortment of magical items. He mentioned a new invented potion that, although untested, would increase a person's defence by I don't know how many grades - most amazing. It wasn't clear how much he wanted for it, the old man was perhaps even thinking of giving it away - I couldn't understand that part correctly. In any case, the possible twist of growing fangs, scales and a tail after imbibing seemed to me not worth whatever the price. But maybe someone else here, bolder than I, would like to try it ? If so, call on Reggie soonest - he seemed eager to want it tested in action. "

Delsenora & Elanriel
"Sure thing Master Dalmarek" as she inspects her armor. She is satisfied with the Dwarven Chain Mail and whistles appreciatively, grinning.
"My family has elvish chain mail and this is quite the armor if you ask me. When I get it imbued magically, I will come show it to you!"
Thinking about Enoc's Armor she asks "Just in case someone is interested, how much are you asking for Enoc's Armor?"

Dalmarek the dwarven smith scratches his head for a moment and furrows his brow "Well since it's been sittin here for so darned long collectin dust an all the fella sold me it for fairly cheap if you ask me. I could part ways with it for two hunered gold or make me an offer I s'pose." he beams with pride at the compliment to the dwarven crafting. The leathers are only dark brown or black leather however the chain is a much lighter color since it is mithril.
"Mind you i couldn't tell yah who crafted this armor just that some fella calling himself Enoc sold me it when he came through here and was hard up for coin to get elsewhere ages ago. I'd say it was likely crafted by human hands."
