Re: Chapter 5: Subterrane of the Cyborgs
Chaka starts to get mad.
He jumps from the pit just in time, likely saving his badly damaged skin in the process.
Dex Check (16) [1d20] = 16
"Big lizards try to kill Chaka, metal monsters try to kill Chaka, pointy ceiling try to kill Chaka, and now even floor try to kill Chaka!!!"
"Chaka starting to hate wizard tower!"

Re: Chapter 5: Subterrane of the Cyborgs
Jeojand ponders the dormant abominations. "I wonderrrrr what gives them life. Perrrrhaps these are their arteries?" He experimentally yanks out a tube or three connected to the neck, head and heart space of the closest monster, to determine whether they can be eradicated simply by disconnecting their machine parts.
Re: Chapter 5: Subterrane of the Cyborgs
Kill the sleeping ones, unless you want to save one for questioning but kill all the rest before they wake.
All of my spells and prayers are exhausted. Unless we stop and rest until tomorrow I am afraid i will not be much more of a help.

Garamond wheezes wetly as he inspects the many dents and punctures his frail chassis has suffered. He examines the fallen cyborg, looking for scraps he can salvage to repair himself.

Chaka, I completely understand. This place, no, this island, is a death trap. I will check out the floor more carefully, as we continue.

Ko-Nan will continue to smash the heads of the abominations to make certain none will wake again.
Re: Chapter 5: Subterrane of the Cyborgs
While fooling around with the depended tubes and artificial pieces of the cyborg, Jeojand watches closely as Ko-Nan massacres the others, advising him to leave one unharmed if he observes natural brain tissue spilling out of their shivered skulls.

Thank Bugs you were able to stop them! Maskelyn says to the room in general. He pitches in on the smashing of skulls, using the knobbed end of his staff to good effect.

Beneath the Dead Wizard's Skyscraper
Forbidden Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Day Three. Midday, March 27th, 912 CY

The bizarre beings of flesh and steel fall still, standing motionless in place.
Jeojand experimentally pulls on brightly colored veins and arteries to no effect. Then Fiefo, Ko-Nan and Maskelyn systematically murder all the half-men in cold blood, but one.
Jeojand's cat-eyes see bloody brain tissue ooze out of a mangled iron skull that was savagely caved in.
This new chamber has two more white doors, shattered pieces of furniture strewn everywhere, and a small pile of what appear to be human bones.
As Adrock counsels rest, Garamond collects promising parts, both mechanical and organic, and stores them in his satchel.
To the east, Chaka the ape-boy leaps to safety from out of the yawning maw in the floor. Then he and Tullia carefully advance to the lone white door at the end of the thin corridor. Unlike its twins, it does not disappear into the wall as they approach, nor does its frame hold any tiny flickers of light... green or otherwise.
Actions?!

She looks at the door, to see how it opens, but pauses before she does. Chaka, before we try this, do we want to rejoin the others? I think I can manage to get us back over the trap door. I don't want to get too far from the others.

The Gnome looks up from the butcher's work he's helping with. Yes, we all need rest- and food- and time to relax- and whatever else. The problem is finding a safe place to do this recovery....

Garamond's looks at its pincer grips, covered in blood and oil from his scavenging, and attempts to wipe them off on the wall. "Yes, we should regroup and take a rest. Your lush, organic bodies will appreciate the chance to recuperate, and I can attempt to affect some repairs on myself."

“Wonder how come they didn’t use this guy for spare parts,” says Fiefo, carefully examining the pile of human bones in the new room for anything useful.

Re: Chapter 5: Subterrane of the Cyborgs
Chaka checks the door over for any possible traps before agreeing with his pale skinned friend.
"Chaka agree."
"Chaka not like being this far from others."
Once the door is secured, he follows the half-elf back up the hallway to the others.
"We should warn them about stupid pit."
Can we just leap the distance of the pit? I cant tell how wide it is exactly. 6 foot? 7 foot?

Chaka carefully examines the new door and finds no further boobytraps lying in wait. Then he and Tullia turn back to the shut trapdoor in the floor. It is 5' by 5'. (To jump it, you need to make an ability check vs Dex on [1d20 - your armor's AC]. A natural 20 always fails.)
To the northwest, Maskelyn and Garamond counsel rest.
“Wonder how come they didn’t use this guy for spare parts,” Fiefo muses as he examines the pile of bones. His beady little rat-eyes spy the glitter of gold sparkling from between some of the chilling human remains!
Adrock ties up the last flesh and steel survivor with Maskelyn's rope, and awakens him.
"...fresh parts..." it groans.
Jeojand the catman purrs more words of arcane power and brings the rotting, rusting creature under his spell!
Fiefo and Ko-Nan are struck by how charismatic and commanding Jeojand is. Why have they only noticed it now? Adrock and Maskelyn, however, suddenly realize how arrogant and irritating the feline sorcerer is.
"Let us untie our dear friend!" the catman purrs as he frees the grotesque thing and turns him away from the bloody massacre of his kin. "Please, ask him any questions you like!"

Re: Chapter 5: Subterrane of the Cyborgs
Garamond, being unfamiliar with the ways of magicians, is alarmed by Jeojand's moves to untie the cyborg. "What... wait! This is foolish! The two of you haven't spent nearly long enough together to overcome the hate of sworn enemies with the soft unfolding of forbidden love! Let me just speak to it a moment! I'd like to see if it speaks common binary."
Garamond sends a standard greetings protocol packet to the cyborg, including:

Chaka ties his rope around his waist, willing to go down to check the pit out before they attempt to jump the distance.
"You help lower Chaka down. Chaka search around for another way."
The ape-boy has a look around the underside of the trap door to see if there is anything else to learn down there.
