Fiefo throws down his pack. "I'll watch first, too," he says, "We're bound to be attacked by something, sooner rather than later, knowing our luck."

The illusionist has already spread his bedroll and is getting settled. I'll take last. I need rest to replenish my magick.

Re: Chapter 3: Yesterday is Tomorrow
Chaka returns to the others.
"Not hallways, only alcoves."
He is fine with resting in between the two doors for the night, and willing to take on any watch shift that needs filling.
He pulls out a dirty, hairy gob of some dried substance that almost passes for a jungle ration and starts to eat.
"You want some, Arto? Chaka share!"

The Dead Wizard's Skyscraper
Forbidden Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Day Two. Night. March 26th, 912 CY

Chaka the ape-boy retreats back to join the others in the first strange tunnel.

Adrock closes the iron door. All is quiet.
Chaka offers Arto a dubious snack. "Ulp! No thanks!" yelps the hungry hobbit as he retreats to Tullia's lowered pack.
Jeojand returns to the southern, invisible door to the outside world where he hears the distant whisper of thunder. The ash on the floor here has been so well trodden by the nine of them that he cannot discern any other tracks beyond their own.
Beneath the alien sorcerous illumination, the explorers of the unknown eat and make camp for the night in the bizarre dungeon of the dead wizard. "Um... were you going to finish that?" Arto asks after someone's unfinished meal... not Chaka's. Switch the dwarf sleeps well, sheltered at last from the terrible, huge sky.
The night watch cycles through without incident and they believe it to be morning.
The enchanted witch lights in the ceiling still flicker and glare, having never rested all night.

"C-could they be the wizard's eyes?" Arto trembles. "Watching us f-from the grave?!"
Actions? (The injured may roll for Healing Rates. Casters may memorize new spells.)
Map detail:

One square = 10 feet. Lighter areas are visible. All else is from memory.

Re: Chapter 3: Yesterday is Tomorrow
Chaka sleeps well in the hard, dusty hallway.
Overnight Healing (Con: 15) [1d100] = 6 2 for me, please.
Once awakened, he gets curious. He starts looking a bit closer at the strange lights and metal ropes. He tries to determine if there are any lights that aren’t attached to the others by the wires. If he finds one, he will attempt to pry it from the wall if he can.
Once everyone seems ready to go again, he leads the way back into the next hall, still looking around for tricks or traps that might yet be sprung. He will check the first set of alcoves and then move along to the next, continuing up the main hall if nothing is found.

Re: Chapter 3: Yesterday is Tomorrow
Fiefo sleeps ok, as well as can be expected, given that today is the day they’ll most likely die.
Chance to heal an extra point on rest (40%): [1d10] = 10 Just the one hp recovered.
He glares dejectedly at the door before them in the alien hallway. “I guess we know which way we're going, at least,” he says after a time. “At least there aren’t any huge lizards in here. That we know of.”

Maskelyn
In the evening, Maskelyn sees Arto scrounging a meal, and passes over the rations he packed for Houdin. Take this. I don't have a use for it anymore.
He wakes, stiff from sleeping on the concrete, but rested. [1d100] = 65only 1 hp.
He thumbs through his spellbook, muttering to himself, and replenishes his spells. Audible glamer and Phantasmal force.

Jeojand performs a series of feline stretches to wake himself up, yawning widely. Retrieving his spell book, he thumbs through the pages and sets down to clear his mind and memorize a fresh set of spells: sleep and friends. "I do not foresee much climbing in here other than along stairs, and that lightning outside has persuading me against climbing the outside of the tower."
When the party sets out, he takes his place in the back of the marching order.

Tullia
When "morning" comes, she will do some stretching after sleeping on the concrete. Ugh. Hard floor. I can take point when we start moving again.

In his excitement LL has a hard time falling asleep but when he does it is to dreams of the ancient past and the fabled Dur-A-Kell power source he seeks.

The Dead Wizard's Skyscraper
Forbidden Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Day Three. Morning? March 27th, 912 CY

Having rested and regained their strength, the shipwrecked adventurers prepare to resume their exploration of the strange skyscraper of the dead wizard Xygax.
They reopen the northern door to the next bizarre corridor.

Curious Chaka finds no glowing witch orbs without iron veins attached. So he slowly pads deeper into the dungeon, carefully searching for devious deathtraps befitting the weird lair a diabolical wizard. He finds none.
With Tullia close behind him, Chaka discovers the next intersection is another pair of empty alcoves.

The bizarre steel and stone corridor must have been a defensive position once.

Tullia
Chaka, thank you for you caution. I'm not sure we will find any "traps," but there might be broken parts of this building which are dangerous.
As she walks, she quietly comments on what she sees:
One would expect the inside of a wizard's tower to be more interesting, more arcane, more colorful, especially with all the weird stuff and animals outside.
This seems to be a basement, but above ground. Maybe it was underground, once.
Hmm.
She cautiously leads the group forward, looking for dangers along the way.

Chaka nods at Tullia.
"Chaka always careful."
He continues on up the strange passage, being cautious to look for any dangers along the way. He checks the ends of each alcove as they advance, in case there are any secret doors to be found.
"Chaka agree! This place boring.....and drab."

“This must have been an escape route. Otherwise, why no rooms?” sighs Fiefo. “How deep is this tower, anyway? Are we in the middle yet?” He scans the ceiling as they go for signs of any openings leading up into the tower proper.
