New to US.
New person. Well, here anyway. Looking around to see what looks fun.

Welcome, Leitz.
I'm sure Ron (rredmond) will be around shortly to welcome you as well, and to explain how you've successfully passed the two post moderation period.

Hey, thanks! Wasn't sure if there was a single introduction thread or one per new user. Went with both.
To answer the question in the "Introduce yourself here" thread; one of my first games was with some college guys. They talked me into having my character sip a potion to see what it was, and it was poison. The other game was spent talking about starship economics. Not sure what my character did in that game but I started dreaming of going from system to system as a merchant. The "Here, drink this." game was D&D in the little brown books, the space game was Traveller in the three little black books. It was the summer of '78 and i was in Project Upward Bound as a teen.
I tend to get wordy in my games, both as player and DM. On another forum we started a Traveller game a few years ago and I've written (but not published) three novels and have material for another three or four. Plans for at least three more as long as I don't croak off or try another potion.
The downside to writing a lot in one "system" is that I'm getting a bit stale. Looking to game in something, have some fun, and get my creative brain cell out of a rut.

Welcome, Leitz!
Good to have you here!
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

You're in a good place for just that.Leitz wrote:Looking to game in something, have some fun, and get my creative brain cell out of a rut.
There are a lot of games, running a lot of different rule systems, so peruse what's out there and maybe send out a feeler or two to the persons running those games to see if/when they can get you involved.

Welcome!
It's hard to explain puns to kleptomaniacs because they always take things literally.

Welcome aboard! Since you're new, I've got something special for you. *holds out a glass bottle with dark liquid in it* Here, drink this.
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.
