Re: Chat
For info, the author has responded to my question to the 4S Google+ community with the following:
So his advice aligns with what we were planning on doing.Push the roll is more for out of combat situations, where characters can repeat the task and put extra effort. Mid combat, this is impossible, as the opponent will hack at you without giving you time to try it again.
Anyway, every swing, every round is kinda pushing it.
Sorcery outside combat could be pushed.

Thanks for the update. I could also see pushing the roll for non-combat sorcery. But failures here would definitely present some challenges! Maybe this would give me an excuse to make a table of random sorcery failures!Captain Kinkajou wrote:For info, the author has responded to my question to the 4S Google+ community with the following:So his advice aligns with what we were planning on doing.Push the roll is more for out of combat situations, where characters can repeat the task and put extra effort. No problem
The random Spell Catastrophe table (for fumbles) from the rulebook would probably work pretty well for this but you can't have too many random tables. Any excuse is good

Re: Chat
No sweat sonofotho. I'm not entirely sure whether we've got our party order sorted yet
PS. That was close! I realised just before submitting the above that the autocorrect on my tablet had changed 'sonofotho' to 'sonofab*tch'!!

If/when you guys do move on down the stairs, is the below an OK order, or would you like to edit?

Re: Chat
As a variation on my earlier proposal, I suggest Jayamanka passes her torch to Haroun, since he is now 3rd in line (If that's OK with you Malc?). Then Jayamanka can wield spear and shield. Other than that, I'm happy.sonofotho wrote:If/when you guys do move on down the stairs, is the below an OK order, or would you like to edit?

Re: Chat
Fine by me. I was looking for Haroun to have a torch that might count as an improvised weapon as that is his specialty.
Re: Chat
That order works fine with me. Jasper is happy to backstab and steal from his companions take up the rear and hold the torch!9littlebees wrote:Fine by me!sonofotho wrote:If/when you guys do move on down the stairs, is the below an OK order, or would you like to edit?

Re: Chat
I have created a new thread called Status. I will use this to keep track of various bits of info, including current marching order. Please everyone check what is in your hands and let me know if I need to edit. Nitehood, can you let me know what Fiddleback has in his hands? Thanks!

Re: Chat
Xantius usually has his staff in one hand, like a walking stick. The dagger is more for utility or when he needs to draw blood for a ritual. So "lantern & staff".sonofotho wrote:I have created a new thread called Status. I will use this to keep track of various bits of info, including current marching order. I'm aware he'd need two hands to use the staff as a weapon. Probably would need at least one hand free for a ritual, as well. Which means he'll have to take time to put the lantern down before he can effectively do anything useful. And that's fine.
