Tanner

Even as the sheets of petrified skin drop from this thing, Tanner teleports behind it and swings his sword at the beast's leg, hoping to hamstring it.

att[1d20+3] = 1+3 = 4 THAC0 4
arrgh!
sword L [1d12+6] = 11+6 = 17

He then springs to the right, with the intent of avoiding the counter-attack.

Rool Diov

Rool continues to bound back, 9 ft. at a time, in an attempt to evade the BDM. He panics when he feels the green liquid make contact with his body. With haste, he uses parts of his cloak to try and scrape or wipe the foul drippings off any exposed skin.

Combat Round 2

Our heroes continue their toe-to-toe assault against the hulking behemoth of a bull-man. Khogeki takes flight and speaks of anger and punishment to the raging gargantuan hate monster. His vorpal blade goes snicker-snack!, slicing the monster's hand clean off at the wrist with a flash of green fire! Malibran, inspired by the power of the Jade Destiny, smacks the monster with his mace.

Hallagad and Xale also continue hammering the monster. There is another mighty crack! when Hallagad's hammer hits the BDM's leg—is it the hammer's magic, or the monster's kneecap shattering? (Critical hit! 21 dmg x 2!)

Tanner does not do so well. He teleports to a position just behind the BDM, hoping to attack it from behind. But he gets a premonition that he's coming in too low, lifts his legs just in time to avoid them materializing in solid rock, and falls clumsily on his butt. He drops his sword.

Meanwhile, Rool—well, you aren't sure what's happening with Rool. The invisible thief makes a strangled gurgling sound. There's a soft thud, then silence.

Risdac and Odilo try more spells. Risdac is first, with an incantation to turn the maimed and heavily battered—but still fighting—Big Damn Monster into a Fish of Unusual Size!

(Dice roll.) The spell seems to go off without any bizarre permutations...
(Dice roll.) ...the monster cannot resist the magic...
(Dice roll.) ...and it succumbs to the spell!

Another thunderclap, and the bull-like monster that had filled the hall is gone. In its place, a 10-foot long carp flops on the dry ground, gasping for water.

Seeing the transformation, Odilo holds his spell.

Malibran utters "Well done, Master Mage! That was some blessed fortune and skill to transform such a wicked beast! Let us finish this creature off quickly before it can revert to it's original form and wreak havoc further! Let us attend to Master Rool - I don't like the sound of things there!"

Malibran will assist in any coup de grace on the giant fish "Can we dispel the invisible thief or will it wear off on it's own? I fear time may be of the essence!"

The Unseen Servant:

The merciful sensei sheathes the mysterious Jade Destiny and solemnly says to the gasping carp. "We release you from the Hell of your own making. May you learn from this in your next life, and avoid the decisions that brought you here, to the existence of a misshapen, chained slave. Good luck."

Then: "If Rool is injured, we may be under attack." The humble master feels for Rool in the direction of his gurgling. If he locates Rool, he will gently find his hands and remove all rings from them.

Xale

Xale will make sure the carp is dead. "I wonder if there is anything we must do to this thing to prevent it from rising again, much unknown about this place."

Tanner

The warrior picks up his sword, his dark skin even darker as he blushes in embarrassment.

Well done, Mage! That is what I mean by useful magic, not wizard's nonsense.

I have some Dust of Appearance, but unless we know where he's at, it would be a waste to use it.

Tanner digs out a tube of Dust, ready to assist in finding the thief.

Risdac Egargi

When the fish finally succumbs, whether through weapons of his party members or just being unable to breathe on dry land, Risdac will grab the giant fish, asking, Does anyone else want some of this? I'm starving, but I'll share if you wish. He'll use his dagger to disembowel the fish and cut off portions for anyone else that wants some. When finished serving others, he'll just rip large chunks of flesh out with his teeth, swallowing it raw. My apologies, as I know this isn't very civilized and must be appalling to see, but I'm really hungry. I haven't eaten in hours!

Hallagad looks about for anything powdery that could be cast around to help find Rool. Failing that, he will shuffle about methodically, hoping to bump in to his invisible gurgling companion.

While Malibran and Xale hack at the big dying carp and hungry Risdac carves great big filets o' fish, others hastily search for Rool. Tanner blows a tube of magic dust in the direction where Rool was last heard from. Rool gradually appears, lying motionless on the ground. His face is blue and swollen.

Risdac Egargi

Continuing to stuff his face with raw fish, the giant looks over at poor Rool. Speaking through a mouthful of food, he states the obvious. Thaaaat does not look good. Did anybody check his equipment? Maybe he has a potion that could help. Clerics, do you have any spells that would remove the poison from his system? I have nothing that can help him, unfortunately.

Malibran rushes to Rool's aid, praying to slow the poison running through his system. Rool bolts upright with a gasp, alive and awake once again.

With the moment of calm, you have a chance to get a better look at your surroundings. The starboard wall of the chamber bears a carved relief, difficult to see because of grime and sludge, of a terrible, fiery winged demon with a sword and a whip. The name "Straoth" appears beneath the image. Two 20'-tall iron doors flank the carving.

A lever is on the starboard side of the north wall, near the rusted iron platform to which the BFM—now a Carp of Unusual Size, and Risdac's meal—was chained.

To aft, the passage opens into a wider space just beyond the range of your lights.
