Ch. 2: Finally Inside the Tomb
Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Raalghh, Urdak grumbles. Wutz d'bleedn use havn rope ifn ya don't use it? He pulls out his hemp and hands it to McCloud. C'mon, Halfn-Elfn Cloud! Ya n Humon Skrewloos lowern me down yon pit n Ae'll curry him out.
Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Skarlos will help the dwarf with the rope - he will wait for at least one other's help first.
Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
With the call to still aid the fallen Quinn out of the pit, McCloud will assist Skarlos in belaying Urdak down to grab Quinn and pull his body out of the pit. I presume Skarlos and Urdak with the spells and potions can determine if they can be of use or it is too late..?
Another flipping pit!!?? (only deeper this time it seems?) What happened to US 'Penfold'? being etheral does he just float above the floor tiles or grab the box and hang on to the ledge for dear (etheral) life or fall to a grim impaling below? ....if still around McCloud will, with all manners, kindly ask his servant "strike a torch" (1 from backpack left by entrance) and "come hither to lighten our way down the corridor"...hopes he makes his way to stand by the green mask image on the south wall. McCloud for the moment will remain on the red tiles square west of the pit with Quinn. Do we have a complete tile message yet or still some missing?

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Bindle will provide any aid he can in hopes of saving Quinn. If he is dead he will say a few words and move back down the corridor diagonal by diagonal as he was before and carefully along the edge when he reaches the big middle pit. He will stay 10 feet behind whoever is leading the pack using his staff to prod the floor on each side before he takes another step.

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Judging by the description of the spell US Penfold is subject to gravity, so 'he' would fall to the bottom of the pit.Stirling wrote:With the call to still aid the fallen Quinn out of the pit, McCloud will assist Skarlos in belaying Urdak down to grab Quinn and pull his body out of the pit. Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
You all struggle under the weight of the dwarf as he climbs down the rope to grab Quinn's body. Urdak reaches the bottom and tosses the unconscious body of the bard over his shoulder. He gives the rope a tug and calls for you to pull, since he only has one hand to climb with.
Urdak please give me a 1d20 roll...and don't roll a 20.

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Urdak manages to hang onto the rope and makes it safely out of the pit with Quinn on his back.tkrexx wrote:[1d20] = 12

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
McCloud will carry Quinns' pack back to the entrance, leaving Urdak and Skarlos to deal with his body. When he passes the pit in front of the jackal box he'll look for US Penfold,... "I say old chap, what are you doing down there?", McCloud will ask of the dissipating cloud guessing that having fallen and taken 'damage' the servant would no longer exist. Quoting some ancient proverb McCloud will exit the tunnel, "from dust to dust all life fades away, we are the winds empty sighing, vanity all is vanity...",

Skarlos will assess Quinn
DMs what's the assessment on the poison - would neutralise be effective at all?
Razluki has a resurrection scroll - would he be planning to use it?

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
On a fairness note...
If we're going to raise Quinn, then should we not also raise Erodhon, who died first? Seems an application of Neutralize Poison and then Raise Dead would work fine on him, as well.
But then if we did that, Skarlos would have to bow out of the game as we'd have 9 players.
And the next person in line to join the game would get the shaft, as well.
I guess my point is... I didn't think raising dead players was part of this particular game. It was: See how far you can get. If you die, you can reroll a character and hop back onto the waiting list if you want, but the next person in line now gets a chance... to die.
I see this as more of a tournament game. Once you die, there is no coming back.

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
You know we could play it tournament style or right now a convenient push of some unsuspecting player into an unsuspecting pit would resolve our too many players dilemma as well

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
It's not a problem to leave Erodhon dead. The character died on the players request. Dogma had to bow out of the game because his RL time became limited.Alethan wrote:On a fairness note...

Raising the dead is not issue. The next player joining the game has always been dependent on the actions of the current players. If you raise the dead so be it. The spell is not an infinite resource so the guys on the waiting list will eventually get their turn.
It was a considerate thought Al. Thank you.

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Yes Neutralize Poison would be effective. I consider it to work under the same rules as the Slow Poison spell. Since very little time has passed he would revive with such magic intervention.saalaria wrote:Skarlos will assess Quinn

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Ah, OK. Thanks for the clarification.
Skiiratch mutters, "If we raise him, then we can't divide his loot..." but shrugs indifferently at the idea. "Isn't anything I can do, so it's all up to the healers in the group."

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
I guess Raz needs to confirm what he would like to do first
Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Just to clarify...casting Neutralize Poison or Slow Poison on him very soon would bring him back. Raise Dead would not be needed, since he is only "mostly dead".saalaria wrote:I guess Raz needs to confirm what he would like to do first

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Bindle snaps his head around at the others contemplating what to do "Come on you greedy mongrels save the damned boy. That kind of selfish attitude's going to kill us all in this deathtrap hell hole." Bindle then turns and proceeds on his originally declared movement plan.

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
McCloud will look at it this way,
"casting neutralize poison will effectively raise Quinn. Give a days rest (and any further healing) and he'll be good to go. I think saving Quinn brings a lot to the party in terms of skills, guile and arcanery. We know other adventurers are on their way and may join us as we progress. Erod unfortunatly went off on his own and perhaps thought to gain at the parties expense so I for one would leave him were he lay. I have no potions to heal Quinn myself but would hope the clerics who can cast (and are able to regain said prayers following their next devotions) would do so and then lets be off into the tunnel a bit more "we band of brothers"..

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Razluki kneels down beside the fallen Quinn, lays hands on his poisoned wounds, and mutters the words Trithereon taught him to neutralize poison.
