How far is it to the other ledge? From the drawing, it looks like someone who jumped would make it, but maybe not somebody who just slipped off the edge.

The cut away view gives a good perspective. The ledge is 10-15 feet down, and 5 feet to the west.

What options does Pelias have if he doesn't want to stab the villagers? Can he do a judo move and throw them into the pit? Given their numbers he's not going to want to tackle one and hold it down, but if he can do something that might not kill a villager, he'd like to take that route.

The merciful myrmidon can use the flat of his blade, as in the past. Roll dice as normal.

Or he can grapple or overbear, as per the DMG.

Cool. Was just checking, since the battlemap sort if suggests a giant hole

Oh I see. To be clear, it's a 15 foot diameter shaft. The ledge on the western face juts out into it in just that area.

thanks for clarification - let me know if it doesn't make sense to have Mouser try to jump - per my latest action post - considering. I assumed by the excellent cross-section graphic that it would doable.
