Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
When surveying the river area in front of the four entrances, Ox doesn't really see any other part that might be easier or tougher than the place where he just crossed - it all looks roughly the same, difficulty-wise.
To the left of the leftmost entrance, and to the right of the rightmost entrance, he sees some regular trees at ground level with sturdy tree trunks that should support a tied rope. (When he scouted the rightmost area, Ox noted animal-type tracks in the sand, between the rightmost entrance and the river's edge.)
Korin, from his side of the river, spies for useful logs but can't really see any from where he's standing.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Phoenix will search their side of the river for a couple of sturdy logs to pop the backpacks upon and use one to support himself as he crosses, like a float. He will tie this end if the rope around his waist and call across to sox to see if he is ready to guide the gnome across. If so the illusionist will take of his robes and fold them up, and stuff them into his pack to keep them dry. In his underwear the long haired prestidgator will wade out into the river with the help of six pulling him and his log across.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Down among the jetsam and flotsam on the north river bank, the nimble gnome finds a twisted, soggy tree trunk, of about gnome length. It kind of looks like it might sort of float, in a quarter-submerged fashion. This one will probably be the best bet within the search area. On the opposite river bank, he sees the drenched hulk of Ox staggering back and forth on the pretty beach - an image of interesting visual contrast.
Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
The gnome takes it up and prepares as above. He will get the big guys attention by waving and once his robes are tucked in his pack and the rope tied around his waist he begins to enter the river, testing the float before he puts his pack on and then grabs hold. He will try and kick his legs behind him as if he was swimming whilst holding onto the float and hopefully being pulled across by Ox.

Korin will go next in the same fashion as the gnome. Putting anything he doesn't wish to get wet into his pack and keeping it high above the water.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Ox-Will secure the rope to the trees upstream from the others. He will let them know he is ready to pull the first across. The lightest first so that they may help pull the others across.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Securely guided by Ox' strong hold on the ropes, Korin and Phoenix make it safely across, with Norbold remaining to keep an eye on proceedings.
Three of the gang are now on the south river bank, one on the north.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
After drying off quickly and putting his robes and cloak back on the illusionist will wave over the elf, taking a hold of the rope to help steady his crossing.
Once everyone is safely across the gnome will look at his comrades. "So, what's the plan to enter the mound? It might be wise to find a hidden place we can retreat to if things go awry in there before we arrive up a hornets nest!"

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
With a combined tug, everyone succeeds in dragging Norbold across - with no crocodile incidents along the way.
All four friends are now happily reunited, on a beautiful beach in an eerie land. It is still early morning. Ox is still soggy.

Korin shrugs and says "Any entrance is better than standing around."
