You guys are, of course, free to divvy up treasure as desired. However -- and especially since this is a large group that will advance slowly enough as it is -- I would suggest giving everyone an equal share of XP-able loot. Magical items, since they don't give XP can be apportioned as they are most useful. Remember, the dude with the potion of healing may well give it to someone else in need; the magic sword benefits the whole party.

Whatever you decide, let me know and I will add it to the House Rules thread.

Sounds good to me. It might still be good, though, to have one PC designated to carry the small magical items/treasures/important stuff that no one specifically wants to carry on their person. I thought Drudsa might be a good choice for that, since he is lightly encumbered, but I suppose anyone could do it. Tratiln or Marodin would be good choices too.

What I've always done in the games I've run is split coinage up by the party and then whoever can make the most use of a magic item, they get it. I.e. - scrolls to magic-users and elves, maces to clerics, daggers to thieves, swords to fighters and the like.

This is the way I have always done it as well.

I agree with all of that as well. A couple of other things to consider:

1) We won't know if items (dagger/vial/etc.) are magical until magic is detected.
2) Even if we know they're magical, we won't know what they do until they are identified (Lanny's not touching that green liquid until he knows what it is). Magical items could be cursed.
3) There may be things that are important for the group to keep, like the parchment (but that are not actually weapons or things usable by a single individual) that a designated PC in the group should keep so that we know who has them and who can remind us all about them if we need them in the future.

Agree with all of the above.

Tratiln doesn't mind holding onto notes and stuff like that. He can pocket them away in his spell book for safe keeping.

Just to make sure I've adjusted my inventory correctly: do you guys want Drudsa to carry anything else? From the treasure obtained so far I've only included the wand and 125 ep on his belongings.

I would nominate Drudsa to stash away in his backpack any items suspected of being magical (such as the dagger and vial) unless a specific PC wishes to carry/use them. I would nominate Tratiln to stash away all other "important group items" (such as the parchment).

I'm assuming the plan is to head west towards where Tink claims Aleena's body lies. There is the western passage in the statue room and the western door in the chest room.

Ok, so unless anyone wants to carry the dagger and the vial Drudsa will be carrying those items until we can analyse them properly.

Yes, west from the chest room is Lanny's vote as well. Presuming we go that way, Lanny will also stack a few goblin bodies in front of the secret door to hopefully prevent any wandering monsters (at least non-intelligent ones) from being able to sneak up on them from behind.

Bregalad the elf

Updated Bregalad's character sheet, to show that he had placed his 110 electrum pieces with the rest of the hidden treasure.

Here is the Treasure List so far, from what I could gather from previous posts:

ITEM___________________________________CARRIED BY
statue parchment________________________Tratiln
30 ep__________________________________ Grey Jake
key____________________________________ Grey Jake
wand**__________________________________Drudsa
50 ep___________________________________Tratiln
1000 ep_________________________________hidden - in chest
6000 ep_________________________________hidden - in chest
ornate hardwood chest (400gp/500cn)_______hidden - outside
vial of green liquid**______________________Drudsa
dagger w/ leather hilt** (10cn)______________Drudsa
letter (from Bargle to Elwyn)_______________Tratiln
6 bracelets** (90gp/60cn)__________________Tratiln
serpent head (30cn)_______________________Ox
2000 gp (ancient coins)_____________________hidden - in chest
12 finely-fletched arrows** (6cn)_____________?

** possibly a magic item (or possessing magical properties)

If I overlooked anything (or need to correct anything) let me know. Thirdkingdom, would you be agreeable to having a separate thread for treasure? If so, I would not mind maintaining it on behalf of the group.

Frobozz. Yes, I will start a new thread for treasure. If you want to go ahead and be in charge of tracking party treasure like you've done (it looks great) we'll go ahead and give Lanny a 5% XP bonus.

A couple of quick thoughts on magic items. First, I will generally make it fairly obvious that an item is magical. I know someone has detect magic memorized, and I should have said something about it earlier but I forgot. Also, I try to make items unique, interesting and potentially plot hooks. Cursed items are possible! Also, Dark Dungeons does not have rules for intelligent swords, so I am using rules from the RC for that.

However, I can be a bit of a dick about identifying items. Typically, this process involves hiring a specialist sage/magic-user to do both magical and historical research. Some items might require even more leg work to be IDed (ie the first dude you hire might be unable to discern some or all of an item's abilities. I try to be fair with this.

Can we put any comments on Treasure or the Kill List in this list, rather than in those lists? I think it would be cool to keep those "clean" of comments so we can quickly find what we're looking for.
