They Who Dwell in Shadow (ooc and questions lll)
Re: They Who Dwell in Shadow (ooc and questions lll)
No it's Hoom's lantern. Hoom passed it to Mouser who then passed it to Ingrid. If you look at the bottom of the lamp you'll see the initials J.B. which has been scratched out and H.F. next to it. J.B. is the fellow Hoom stole the lantern from, fair and square.
Character leveled. Look out Hoom cast two spells now.
Do we automatically get the new hit points or do we need to heal up to the new max.
I got an extra point of healing.
healing rate 20% [1d100] = 5

You're right! Sorry. I should have written:DadsAngry wrote:No it's Hoom's lantern. Hoom passed it to Mouser who then passed it to Ingrid.
Yup, Ingrid still has Hoom's lantern.

Nope. Ingrid has Ingrid's lantern. She considers it a gift. If Hoom would like to make a donation to the church...

On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

I believe that we may encounter a giant snapping turtle somewhere in this swamp.

I think that Ingrid should use her last CLW on herself. Bo has 3 as well that he can cast, but I don't want to burn all three of his second level spells before we even set out. I would save one and cast 2 CLW on Telkis if that seems agreeable.

Of all the images to choose for the module cover, to entice a gamer to buy, I can't figure out why they chose a giant turtle.OGRE MAGE wrote:I believe that we may encounter a giant snapping turtle somewhere in this swamp.
That said, it is a pretty mean looking turtle.

Hi,
Looks like consensus is forming to leave the windmill and the village of Briarsgate.
Are you going directly to the Rushmoors, or stopping first at the abandoned farmhouse of the hanged family to get the rest of Hoom's equipment?
The farmhouse is a few hours NE of the village, on the road to Hookhill. The cultist map's path to the Rushmoors goes due south, through the SE tendril of the Dim Forest. So stopping at the hanged family's farmhouse adds almost 7 hours of walking.
Hoom currently has some of his possessions on him: his lantern, armor, weapons, spellbook and enchanted lockpicks. The rest is hidden at the farmhouse.

The heroes are at X, the windmill.

Maybe lunging out of the water would have been more menacing than, um, conveniently, yet awkwardly perching on two precisely spaced boulders?Inferno wrote:Of all the images to choose for the module cover, to entice a gamer to buy, I can't figure out why they chose a giant turtle.OGRE MAGE wrote:I believe that we may encounter a giant snapping turtle somewhere in this swamp.

Ha. Yeah. The injured want to wait, to heal. The healed people don't want to wait. The fastest way to win hearts and minds to the "leave now" faction is to heal the injured.ChubbyPixie wrote: I LOVE THIS IDEA! THIS IDEA IS SUPER GREAT!

Hoom has his spellbook, magic thieves tools, weapons, and armor, right? So his only argument for returning to the farmhouse is that he left his backpack and something precious to him but not important to the mission?

I, too, support this idea. Urdur is firmly in the "leave now!" camp.ChubbyPixie wrote:I LOVE THIS IDEA! Re: They Who Dwell in Shadow (ooc and questions lll)
Ingrid will do just that. I didn't want to use her final spell to heal herself in case the more fighterly types end up needing it, but if others are suggesting it, I won't feel selfish about using it.OGRE MAGE wrote:I think that Ingrid should use her last CLW on herself.

So, Grothnak wouldn't suggest this because he's all about the direct action, but what if Hoom told Ramne where the papers are? Then the hermit could try to send a warning to Hookhill somehow.
