Quest #1 "Loggers Run"

OOC: How big is the bush? Are we talking huge or like sapling?

It's about man sized. With branches.

Monocar sheaths his sword and reaches in, grabbing as close to the base of the bush as possible and heaves with all his might, trying to pull it up like a giant weed!

Mountaincar walks right up to the normal shrubbery and grabs its base with both hands. He violently yanks it out of the dirt with very little effort at all. He then stands there looking at the girls with a bush in his hand.

Grin. "Maybe one of the magic types can look this over."

Krystal

Looks at Monocar as he grabs a pose', "Most ladies would prefer some fresh roses not a mulberry bush!" On her guard against any branching whiplash she will return to the settlement and treehouse, thinking what to do next.

[OGRE MAGE]

The trio notice a few other unusual things that happen on their way back into Beachtown, (dried leaves being thrown up into the air, pebbles being tossed around, etc.) but they are not threatened by anything substantial along their return.

Almost as quickly as it began, the mission to find the loggers camp reaches its end......for now.

Krystal, Monocar, and Bonnie find themselves back at the beginning of the trail in Beachtown, plus one bush. Krystal heads back to the Treehouse to contemplate her next move.

I can keep this thread alive for now if you decide to head back out again. Maybe in the morning?

"Well. That was a nice walk at least. I am interested in what some of the magic types would have to say about our adventure."
She turns to Monocar "The treehouse is as good as any option. Care to drag that bush a bit further?"

Bonnie motions for Monocar to lead the way to the Treehouse.

I'd rather be carrying you again, he thinks to himself and his eyes betray. Still, he is good natured enough to smile and nod. "Lead the way, ma'am! I could carry this all day. Used to help with my da hauling the logs from the fell to the mill. Hey, come to think of it, this place could use a mill. We should scout the treeline for hardwood and maybe we can thin the edges around here. Make a log building or two instead of the shacks. Start upgrading a few things here and there. Get a mill blade, start making good lumber. Then we can get a blacksmith or ferrier. One thing begets another l, as my da said. Would be nice to actually help out a little."

The next morning......

The morning arrives without incident. As the sun begins to rise, the insect swarms die down a little and the temperature begins to climb again.

This is the group that will be run by Krystal.
They are seeking out the loggers camp at the end of the trail to learn information about what might be found out in the wild.

Even though we aren't sure if everyone is accounted for yet, I think we can start off with this mission right now.

Keen to explore the islands interior, Krystal jostles the expedition volunteers out of their shacks and set off again after breakfast. "Be wary of monkoons and groping limbs from the trees," she cautions the folk who decide to travel with her.

Monocar Jemara

Walks up to the assessment still stretching the kinks out of his back, about half a ration clasped in his hand as he munches between yawns. He looks like he at least tries to clean up/wake up by splashing in the creek. His hair is still wet but he his usual eagerness is hardly desernable as he tries to get the sleep out of his eyes. He waves absently and looks around. Apparently no one has flipped the on switch for his mouth yet.

Bonnie joins the group at the logging trail, glad to see a few familiar faces.
"Morning Miss Krystal, Monocar. I trust everyone slept well enough?"
"Hopefully we can get a bit further without getting spooked. I would also hope that we can keep the spankings to a minimum."

Jack, lost boy:

When Krystal opens the door to Jack's shack, she finds the eternal child wide awake and ready to go.

"Good morning!" he shouts at the top of his little lungs as he races past the evil lady to the trail head.

Happy to see two more brave adventurers joining their expedition (including the nice wildman that was trying to help him with the grumpy, mean ol' ship's captain), Jack resumes point, ready to set off into the forest primeval! "Let's go, everybody!"

I figure he'll be 90 feet ahead, to get that Elven surprise benefit. Also, to give the grownups a break.

Raythan wakes with all of the commotion going on. He takes a few moments to get his crap together before exiting the shack. "Morning" he says, it an un-motivated tone.

Krystal is pleased to see that her group is "up and at em" so early this morning. Even her favorite lummox is there and ready to explore, unusually quiet this early in the day it would seem.

Bonnie is there too, with little Jack also ready to retake his position as point man boy. The child seems the most bright eyed and bushy tailed of all the members after his long rest.

Raythan joins the party as well, still a little sleepy and unsure where his shack mate has gone off to so early.

We can begin this expedition as soon as we hear from the Bear. Feel free to RP a little or discuss tactics until then.

Munches the last of his ration noisily and looks around at everyone. "What?" That said he makes a face feeling his stomach growl in protest. He was ready for a real meal. His eyes wonder up to the trees as if he expects food to fall from the heavens. "you think there will be any good hunting as we head inland? I could go for some squirrel, or a spit rabbit or two... or three..."
