My mistake... again, If I had been paying attention I would have used up more healing magic on Oz. Sorry bud.Vargr1105 wrote:Day 4 - Dawn - Grassy Plain/The Lake Fortress

Re: OCC Thread
Resource-wise the keep has weeks upon weeks worth of rations, two crossbows that can be salvaged (one from the armory - if it wasn't taken already, I can't recall - and the one from the trap), and a few quivers worth of bolts.saalaria wrote:Following his morning dip in the lake, Swil gathers up his gear in his pack including plenty of his dried fish. He gulps some more down this morning and offers it around to the others..zebediah wrote:Before the party starts moving Ogirdor approaches the lizardman Swilbosh, is there any equipment or resource in this old battlement that could be of use for us in our way?
"Pleassse take what you want but I am not sure there isss too much here to choossse from." he offers in response to the question.
You folks let me know here when you are ready to depart the keep. Currently the opinion seems to be travel eastwards across the plain towards the mountains and the "great stair".

Re: OCC Thread
Just updated my prepared spells for the day: Bless, Command & CLW
Re: OCC Thread
In terms of MO in the short term at least I guess it makes sense for Swill to go somewhere near the front to direct the party in the right direction. Any thoughts?

Re: OCC Thread
Since Swilbosh knows the way I don't think there is the same need for Ogirdor to scout far ahead of the others.
The ranger will follow the lizardman, bow & arrow ready at hand.

By the way, Ozborn is still injured, with 6 out of 9 Hit Points.

Updated. Everyone is at full health.
Re: OCC Thread
Sorry all my understanding was prob still off - I assumed the stair went down, not up or maybe up and down - as you are heading downwards arent you? Well perhaps whoever got the PM may give a different perspective....

Re: OCC Thread
The stair goes up and Swilbosh knew it. He never traveled it and does not know were it leads. However he has seen men over the years coming from or going to that direction and the stair being the only path means it must lead to wherever they come from.
Maybe it goes up and over the mountain, maybe it goes thru it, or maybe there's a human community living somewhere up there in them mountains...who knows?
And how does that fit with the humans Swilbosh saw traveling through the swamp path (on the opposite side of the valley) that seemed to belong to the same culture? Again, who knows?
Mysteries, mysteries...

Re: OCC Thread
Another question varg. What direction does the stair go in, in relation to the direction the party came from? What I am trying to visualise is if it just goes back the way they came or a totally different direction.

Re: OCC Thread
The stair is pretty much on the opposite end of the plains than where the party arrived at after they got off the swamp.
As for the precise direction the stair climb up the mountain you'd its roughly aligned North-East.

Re: OCC Thread
If I recall correctly infravision has a longer reach than torchlight, am I right?
If that is the case there might be an argument for a formation in which those with infravision can fully use that ability while the others move with torches (Ogirdor can carry a torch) at a distance that doesn't spoil the infravision. Does this make sense to you guys?

Re: OCC Thread
Torchlight has a range of 4", Stonjuz's Infravision has a range of 60" but it cannot be used in the ambit of any light source.
So, this means if you wish for Sonjuz to work as see-in-the-dark scout he will have to advance at least 40 feet in front of the torch carrier. In that case he will be able to detect visually up to 100 feet in front of the rest of the party trailing behind him. He could, of course, travel even farther ahead.

Re: OCC Thread
Hmm, sounds tricky, if the scout(s) get in trouble the others might not notice it.
It's probably gonna be slower but I think it makes more sense to have everyone together with one torch. Ogirdor can carry it if someone can actually provide the torch (it seems I forgot to buy torches

Re: OCC Thread
The other thing to consider is a lower ac person at the front as swil's isn't great (ac 4)
