Hey!
Hey, guys!
I'm obviously new around here. I'm and old gamer and lately I've been looking for places to discuss rpg's and play a bit of pbp. I've been browsing the games and the threads around and I liked the ideas quite a lot, so I decided to register and take a closer look!
I hope I get to meet you guys around!
See you!

Re: Hey!
Welcome aboard!
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

Re: Hey!
Thanks! Now I got some time off and I'll go dig the forums a bit more. Anyone knows of Pathfinder or similar medieval games around, btw? Or maybe some Mutants and Masterminds? I do miss those, lol.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Re: Hey!
Now there is an idea I'd be up for that if we started a M&M game.Archon Basileus wrote:Or maybe some Mutants and Masterminds?

Re: Hey!
Cool! A character idea or a story idea?
Is M&M a system that people like to play around here?

Re: Hey!
It's a system I've played in once and would like rot again some more.

Re: Hey!
Makes us two! I have a number of ideas to run on it, really. I find it very flexible!
Back in the they we had a table set in a greco-roman like world that employed the M&M's rules. Mythical heroes obviously were the center of the story, and it became a lot easier to build powerful sorcerers and demi-gods. It went pretty far, that one. The main characters were an artifact-boosted thief, a sword-wielding eques (we simply called him knight most of the time), a super-strong barbarian and a mind-controlling witch. I guess it went as far as the destruction of the City on the Hill (the counterpart to Troy in that world) on account of a war between the sun god and the god of oceans (a conflict entirely created by the players as they decided to steal - blame the thief - an artifact that both gods coveted).
We did plenty with it, really. I remember a comedic campaign for a Super Sentai set of characters. It was worth some good laughs as we tried to make super powers fit into the absurd "honor code" of the genre.
The best one, though, was a game on the same lines as rising stars. Man, that table was tense!
Anyway, for the most part the rules seem to translate well that massive spam of story arcs possible in comic books. It's maleable and allows freedom for players as well.
