[LFP] Tomb of Horrors now recruiting!

I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.

Any mundane equipment, just take. We will be using encumbrance, probably best to travel light into the Tomb, but up to you. You know the old saying - "I don't have to run faster than the bulette, I just have to run faster than you!"

Any rare non-magical equipment, just hit myself or bhart up with a PM to see if your justification for having it is okay. We'll approve on a case-by-case.

For magical equipment, we are going to provide a list of 20 items for everyone to choose from. Not sure how we'll do that since once you take an item from the list, then someone else can't have it. It'll be really stinky for the wait list guys, but when someone dies, you can always take his stuff and redistribute... if possible.
Just want to offer a thought on magic. How about a player wishlist up to some exp/gp value? Subject to DM approval of course. Of course it is your game!!

Haaaaai, I got the Private Message, and while I'm interested in playing, I would like to point out that I've played the (watered down) v3.5 version of this module a little over two years ago...would this disqualify me? Just thought I'd be honest.

Darn, I really screwed the Ability Score chargen.

I fat-fingered the wrong button and instead of keeping a set of rolls that included 17,16 and 15 & rolled up a new one with three 14's.

Meh, I'll just play a village idiot which stole an heavy armor from a battlefield.

Say hello to Halbrad, Peasant Hero!

This guy is going to be toast soooo soon! Maybe his "loyal" bearer will survive.

I'd be keenly interested in a spot in group 2.

I think it's very similar. Though the mechanics will be different and with bhart changing them either further... we will put you in and see how it goes. Fun!
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Heh. This is exactly the type of guy that will survive!! ;)

The Stat roller seems to be crazy generous lately and with the 2 for 1s we are having some high stats. It's going to be interesting to see how the different types of PCs fare. Every time I roll a guy with high stats my old school mentality starts to shiver. I think it's probably because you've got to try harder to keep that 15 STR fighter alive!
It really should be an interesting game.

About Hit Points. It has been awhile since I made a D&D character. A thief at 9th level rolls nine d6 for hit points plus all the other hits points gathered up till this time? If this is correct than my thief will have hundreds of hit points. I must be doing something wrong?

Heh I can see how you would get that. But a 9th level thief rolls 9d6 and that's it. Essentially you roll 1d6 at first level and then another d6 each additional level. So at second level you keep your HP from 1st level and add 1 more d6. So your Hit Die is 2d6, but you only roll 1d6 to add to that first level d6, making it 2d6.

Hope that makes sense.

Ok..I figured it out. My 12th thief has 44 hit points. Now my character is rolled up...how do you want the character sheet posted to site? Do you have a certain type of character sheet that you want posted?

What classes are folks working on?
I put a thief together, but I'll probably switch to a magic-user if someone else wants to go the thief route.
Sebastian, A Candle in the Darkness
Ulrich, Tales of The Troll Company
Alex Fiord, The Rescuers
Hakon Geirmundarson, Pawns of the North Wind

Monk, always wanted to, but never rolled the stats. This time I did, with a 2-1 swap thrown in. Mason the Mage Whacker.

Cool on the Monk, I was considering that.
Since we have a monk and a thief already, I'll definitely switch to a casting type.
By the way, 600k xp is plenty for a bard if anyone has the rolls and it's in play.

Bard is in play. And the forums are open and everyone can start posting characters and ideas. :)

I'll hop onto the waiting list for one of the games.

Unless you need to fill out the second party still.

Ron,

I'd like to join the waiting list for Group A with Argennian.

Thinking about dwarf cleric/assassin to go with Arg's dwarf cleric/thief. Maybe long lost brother/kin?
