[LFP] Tomb of Horrors now recruiting!

I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.

Looks pretty awesome! And dual Jersey DMs to boot? Oh my... 8-)

Funny, I actually just purchased what looks to be a brand new original copy of this module at my FLGS out here in the wild west. It was all shrink-wrapped and hidden behind a bunch of bland stuff in the Used/OOP section. I'm also one that's never DMed or played it. Like many of the original modules I have either phycial or soft copies of, I don't like to read through 'em until I get at least a reasonable chance to play 'em.

Bill & Ron: best wishes and good luck with it, fellas. Looks like it'll be a hoot!

(If you start running short of replacement players, please post and let us know! ;) )
Yosef Travathas: High Elf Fighter4/Magic-User3 (rredmond's Pacesetter Games "Legacy of the Unknown" OSRIC Playtest)
Brok Sterling: Human Assassin3 (ToniXX's Incursion into Newiron OSRIC Playtest)
Tanik Tremwoodak: Dwarf Cleric3 (Dave's 1e Skype Game)

DM: home-brew OSRIC "A New Hope to the West" campaign

Fireball... good!!

"What's it gonna take?"
"Everything."

Hmm I've PMed a bunch of the board newbies. We will see.

Nuke66 there's still room.
Mitch you want on a wait list or something?
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Considering your DMs are both from Jersey, how can we not let you in!
:)
Heh, excellent on all counts!
How will magic-user type classes determine their spell book spells?
Sebastian, A Candle in the Darkness
Ulrich, Tales of The Troll Company
Alex Fiord, The Rescuers
Hakon Geirmundarson, Pawns of the North Wind
Jameson Rowan, Silverband

Quick question.......do you allow 2 for 1 trading after attributes are rolled? (I.e. for example; lower a STR of 12 to 10 to increse a DEX of 14 to 15) If so....is this as easy to do as just modifying the attributes in the character sheet after placing them wherever?

The reason I ask: I just rolled a set of stats.....with one 15 and three 14s......which is great; but at the same time....the chance to turn a couple of those 14s into 15s or that 15 into a 16 or both; is VERY alluring.......

If the answer is no; no worries!

Anyone want to make a character for me? :D
You could wait list one of the games. That'll give a little more time. Just a little.

Let us know if you want in, or if you want to go on the wait list.

As much as I want in on this, you better just add me to the wait list. I'll try this weekend to carve out some time to get my C&C character done for Mithrandir's game, and then start to work on one for this.

ummm.... ahhh... welll.... oh crap, who am I kidding? :)

Sure, but put me towards the back of the waiting list, Ron. I know we've had a recent influx of new board members here that I would really like to see get a chance to join up first. Even if it could be as short-lived as everyone is saying!

Besides, I'm still trying to make the time to keep pace with both my pbps here and get those 1e Metamorphosis Alpha & Star Frontiers games up and going before the Mayan Apocalypse!

I'd like to get in on this too. I've never had the chance to play Tomb of Horrors.

Yes 2 for 1 trading is ok. Please give us your list of original scores as well as the modified ones post trading. Thanks!

I have basic ability scores, experience, levels, hit points etc. done. I need to roll for spells known and then figure out what equipment I get I suppose. When do we find out what magic equipment we get and what thread to post in?

The Campaign ID field is not a required field. You can roll up a character and add the campaign ID later. It will retroactively make any rolls you make for that character visible to the person DMing the game.

hope I haven't missed out on the chance to join a new game? Not sure how it may work time wise with me being on the other side of the Atlantic but I'll still get to post Mon / Wed / Fri am (GMT) so perhaps I'm actually ahead of you guys?

Anyway, I'll roll up a character...am thinking Elf rogue? ok, what do I need to do next?
