What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)
Re: What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)
That looks pretty awesome! One other thing I picked up a while back that seems like it would be awesome to play is Beyond the Wall.

Less talky, more setting up these games!
If these do get set up, lemme know. Sounds fun.

I'm still hoping for something more along the lines of Greyhawk, Forgotten Realms, Al-Qadim, or Oriental Adventures myself.

If I ever get enough time to run another game, I'll probably try my hand at 4e FR or Eberron.

Sounds awesome!Pulpatoon wrote:Has anybody here looked into Into The Odd? It is the most old school thing I've ever seen. Here's my review: http://abominablefancy.blogspot.com/201 ... o-odd.html
Some highlights:
1. Chargen takes less than a minute, including equipment. This works well with high lethality of adventures.
2. Combat is blazing fast, and decidedly deadly. I think it would work really well for PbP, requiring fewer posts back and forth.
3. The emphasis is strongly on player skill, not dice mechanics. Pretty much, players only roll dice as Saves to avoid danger, and Damage during combat. The rest is you thinking very hard about perilous decisions. I think this would also operate very well on PbP.
4. Free player document! https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6MR1KW ... RVblk/edit
5. The format for adventures is brilliant and extraordinarily low-prep.
Having just shuttered my campaign for lack of time, I'm not in a position to run it, right now, but, boy howdy, would I love to as soon as life permits.
If you do end up setting up this game in the future (I'm rather busy right now too), I'm interested. Not now, though.

Preferably in 1e or 2e AD&D as those are my two favorite editions.GreyWolfVT wrote:I'm still hoping for something more along the lines of Greyhawk, Forgotten Realms, Al-Qadim, or Oriental Adventures myself.

Understood--just indicating what I'm most likely to run (should I open a new game at some point)

I've been reading Qelong (fantasy effing Cambodia hexcrawl by Ken Hite), and playing in an ACKS game on another forum. I'm thinking I could run an ACKS Qelong game after the new year.

I saw some recent posts suggesting BW and The Odd. I'd be up for either, The Odd looks really interesting and if the player info necessary is free, all the better!
Re: What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)
I just recently shuttered a Beyond the Wall campaign (viewforum.php?f=130). It was a lot of fun, and I'd love to play in another one, were anyone setting it up. The character generation rules are a lot of fun, and the scenario packs work really well to get a session up and running, fast. The broader world generation procedure from Further Afield was also a lot of fun.

I'm thinking hard about running Into the Odd, but want to be sure that I can meet the time commitment. Maybe in Mid-December, when school goes on break. Let me know if you're interested!

Re: What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)
Any Fallout fans around here?

I've been recently replaying Fallout 2 and fondly remembering the times I played Fallout PnP 2.0, the pen&paper rendition of the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system with my pals. Of course, as a straight and true to the original implementation of a computer game, it included lots of numbers (especially when it came to calculating damage), but it was a familiar and sweet crunch.
Which brings me to the inquiry: would there be interest in playing a Fallout game here? I'm ready to run a short campaign.
Either by using the original S.P.E.C.I.A.L. rules (preferred!), or, e.g. Mutant Future (less preferred by me, to be honest. It wouldn't feel like Fallout).

I would actually be interested in a Fallout game if one were created.

Re: What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)
Fallout sounds fun, sad to say that I know nothing of the written S.P.E.C.I.A.L. rules, is there any documentation on this that I can grab? If so then I'd be down.
Life is a roller coaster, if you don't stop to enjoy it then you may as well not even ride.
Re: What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)
Yes, the rulebook is a free-to-download pdf: http://fallout-rpg.narod.ru/PnP.html (It's the very first link, "This is officially version 2.0 of the Fallout: PNP RPG rules")MonkeyWrench wrote:Fallout sounds fun, sad to say that I know nothing of the written S.P.E.C.I.A.L. rules, is there any documentation on this that I can grab? Fan-made, but sanctioned by the developers.

Darn it! This one is so tempting right now... I wish I could join (Fallout Fan), but I would be stretching myself thin again on the forums.

I'd join a Fallout game, if it were available.
