Chapter 11: Anxiously Contemplating the Hobgoblins!
Re: Chapter 11: Anxiously Contemplating the Hobgoblins!
Dungeon Master:
All the prisoners are capable of walking out of the caves themselves.
They will tell you they were either destined for slavery, converted as a warrior to the Hidden Temple or prepped for dinner.
Oddrick goes on about a book & that he would love to find & recover it.
Note: Those that were in the first group of adventurers can now be used as back-up in case another bites the dust!

Lutha Cee
tears of joy streaming from his eyes (and ears), jubilantly proclaims: "The apple tells no lies! A stitch in time is good news! All roads must come to an end! My dear brother cousin, you are safe! It is so wonderful to see you alive. The whole of Clacton-on-Cee was hoping for good news, now I can relay it back! And here is your brother's-cousin's-step-uncle's-disowned-nephew-by-marriage Wolfram Orc-de-Gnome - neither an orc nor a gnome hee hee - who has watched over me during this perilous trek. Let's rejoice!" and gives Luna water to drink, and tries to tend to Luna's head injury: "Does anyone have healing to spare?"
Wolfram
silent, mainly notices that olfactory molecules from unwashed dungeon victims do travel swiftly through air indeed

Can I reclaim (and play) Luna right now ? If so: what are his current HP and XP, thanks.Note: Those that were in the first group of adventurers can now be used as back-up in case another bites the dust!
Re: Chapter 11: Anxiously Contemplating the Hobgoblins!
Dungeon Master:
I'll say Luna is at 1 HP since he was down to -8 prior.
As to the XP I guess I shall give the characters what they got up to that point.
Since you will be pretty much heading back to the keep to get the merchants back, the rest will be resting at Guido's Keep until fully recovered.
They will tell you that the Hidden Temple Clerics healed them to keep some of them alive & mentioned that they were going to do another round of healing before slavers arrived.
At this point you guys need to decide on exploring a bit more, or getting out quickly & back to the Keep.
Also, what will be the fate of the Gnoll & Orc?
Don't forget there is at least one Orc tribe in the northern caves & Gnolls are roaming the Borderlands forest.

Mort will set the gnoll free and as for the orc he frees the orc as well. "Go on get outta here. You're free."

Lutha Cee and Wolfram
rummage through the killed hogoblins to see if there are any suitable items they can equip Luna with, for either for the continued exploring ahead, or for the trip back to the keep. Especially looking for:
daggers
staffs
slings
sturdy clothing, boots
sacks, pouches, bags
food rations
water skins
torches
rope
do they find anything like that ?
And, did anyone care to come forward with a healing spell or potion for Luna ?

same goes for Durgan? Thought the druid had bit the dust!
Victor stops his searching as the prisoners are all named, "Durgan Lightwater? Ah ha! The druid lives! And here I thought you and your quiet self had finally perished! It's good to see you again!"
Maya rushes over to the now unchained druid, lightly hugging him in her armor, "It's good you aren't dead Durgan..." he gives the man a wide and joyful tear filled smile, something completely uncharacteristic of her so far.

GW I'm aware of the previous search; Lutha's & Wolframs 'rummaging' takes place after Kormak's search, i e looking for whatever is left
Re: Chapter 11: Anxiously Contemplating the Hobgoblins!
Idonea surveys the prisoners. "Our mission is to return such Kmartes as we can, and here, we have Master Kmarte and his wife. It would be a poor job if we simply sent them back on their own, unguarded, after all they have been through. On the other hand, it behooves us to press on and rescue the others, if they are still in shape to be rescued.
"So, either we arm the prisoners and press on, take them back to the Keep, or split the party. What say you all?"

Re: Chapter 11: Anxiously Contemplating the Hobgoblins!
Dungeon Master:
A casual search of the Hobgoblin torturers comes up with:
4 Chain Mail armor
2 whips
4 Long Swords
1 Silver Armlet (Value: ???)
4 coin pouches with:
[1d6] = 2 + [1d6] = 2 + [1d6] = 5 + [1d6] = 6 = 15 Copper Coins
[1d6] = 2 + [1d6] = 2 + [1d6] = 6 + [1d6] = 5 = 15 Silver Coins
[1d6] = 4 + [1d6] = 2 + [1d6] = 3 + [1d6] = 2 = 11 Electrum Coins
The Gnoll snatches one of the hobgoblin long swords & attempts to make a run for it!

Re: Chapter 11: Anxiously Contemplating the Hobgoblins!
Maya quickly turns from the Druid Durgan and lets loose her throwing axe. Her motions are completely fluid as the axe sails towards the Gnoll and embeds itself directly in the creatures back.
Hand Axe(Throwing/Melee): [1d20] = 20 Damage: S/M[1d6+1] = 2+1 = 3, L[1d4+1] = 4+1 = 5
whats up.
If the gnoll drops dead Victor will then answer Idonea, "I don't know the others but if Durgan is here, and from what Lutha there is babbling out I'd say these are the last group that were sent to find the Kmarties, Let's give them some weapons and head back!"

Maya nods at a throw done right and excuses herself from Durgan, walking over to the downed body of the gnoll and stabbing it once with her sword to confirm it's death, then sheathing her sword, retrieving and holstering her axe, and retrieving the sword it stole, she walks back towards the group, tossing the sword back into the pile with the others.
She then returns to talking to Durgan.

Kormak doesn't see anything of interest to take from the looted items "Take what you need or want." he proclaims in a lower tone as he lays things out for the others to rummage through.

Re: Chapter 11: Anxiously Contemplating the Hobgoblins!
Wexley takes a whip and coils it before attaching it to his belt. Waiting on a decision to be made, neither worried if continuing or going back.
Borum says "Wasn't there others? Do we leave them to their fate and pray in a few days they are still alive when or if we return?" I am sure the fat one said that others, in his party, were being prepared as warriors for the Hidden Temple." Borum rests against the wall ignoring the pile or armour and weapons. Though I can only swing a hammer now. Without rest I cannot heal anyone.

Idonea: "Our contract is clear—we should return to the Keep, now. But we also have a duty to those still captured. And we do not know that they can wait for rescue. Prisoners, what say you? Will you don mail and take up arms and fight your captors?"

Re: Chapter 11: Anxiously Contemplating the Hobgoblins!
Dungeon Master:
Both agree with Mikel Kmartie, however, they would not mind at least scouting to gauge the others' condition, first while still here inside the caves.
