Chapter 8: A Camping We Will Go
Re: Chapter 8: A Camping We Will Go
Wexley:
Wexley begins to move south, to place the creek to his back and allow him to see the Orcs from a better position.
He will continue to snipe at any who attempt to run or come as reinforcements.
3rd shot Bow shot [1d20+1] = 12+1 = 13, damage [1d6] = 4
4th shot Bow shot [1d20+1] = 4+1 = 5, damage [1d6] = 5
Any counter of the -2 penalty from repositioning, having maintained one eye for night vision or having infravision?

Re: Chapter 8: A Camping We Will Go
Dungeon Master:
Wexley's moving south? i though you (& Mr. Choe), had already moved to the group of boulders on the south side of the creek prior to having combat begin?!
So you were just to the east with those boulders on the north side of the creek?
Also, are you going to try to get into infravision range after the 2nd volley of arrows, then help lead the charge to the orcs you can see?

Re: Chapter 8: A Camping We Will Go
Not trying to lead a charge, you said the Orcs retreated from the pyre to the forest's edge. So, Wexley and Mr. Choe would have to move to the bottom of the boulders (South) to remain in a better position to shoot. Unless of course I am mistaken of the positions.

But they could then also spot you, however your weapons have more range.
Yes, if you move to within 60 ft of the orcs you should be able to spot them if they are not well concealed & thus no -2 penalty.Baramoor wrote: Any counter of the -2 penalty from repositioning, having maintained one eye for night vision or having infravision?

Going to sit at range and take the penalty, wait till the others move up and pick off anything moving against us

Orc Pyre Battle - Round 1 : Segment 2: Clarified with Final Actions
Ok, This looks to be the Actions for the Party this Segment 2.
Wexley & Mr. Choe are up ahead of the party at those boulders on the south bank of the Goblinwater Creek.
Wexley will be readying a bow shot this segment, along with Mr. Choe.
They are awaiting for the rest of the party to advance to their position, Kormak leading.
Segment 2 for the adventure party is mainly being used for the party to ready another arrow shot & Mort initiating advancing up.
Nothing comes from the Orcs in the trees this segment.
Wexley:
Readying his bow & arrow for another shot this segment.
Mr. Choe:
Readying his bow & arrow for another shot this segment.
Kormak:
Charges in at the Orc Mort shot at for segment 2.
During another segment he reaches the Orc: Two-Handed Sword[1d20 +1] = 19+1 = 20 Dmg[1d10 +2] = 1+2 = 3 Lrg Dmg[3d6 +2] = 10+2 = 12
Borum: stays back this segment & then proceeds to follow Kormak next segment (as does rest of group).
Mort:
Reloads & aims this segment.
Like an archer in an army of crossbow men reloads while marching slowly towards where the orcs were waiting for an orc to aim and fire at if one is seen in the shadows of the night and does not look from the shadow of it to be Victor or Kormak he will fire at it.
Maya:
Reloads & Aims this Segment.
Idonea:
Will nock & aim arrow this segment 2.
Then this is for segment 3: Bow: [1d20] = 8 Damage: [1d6] = 6
Ewat:
Will also nock & aim an arrow this segment 2.
The this is for segment 3: Bow: [1d20+1] = 17+1 = 18 Damage: [1d6] = 3
Sister Opal, Fr. Tenebaum, Karick, Radac:
All hang back for the time being & then begin to move forward to Wexley & Mr. Choe the 3rd segment.
Lutha Cee:
Stays behind Fr. Tenebaum & follows during the 3rd segment.
=============================
Actions for other segments:
Wexley:
This will probably be at -2 To Hit since you will be firing into the dark:
2nd shot during (Segment 3) Bow shot [1d20+1] = 7+1 = 8, damage [1d6] = 3
3rd shot (Segment 5): Bow shot [1d20+1] = 12+1 = 13, damage [1d6] = 4
4th shot (Segment 7): Bow shot [1d20+1] = 4+1 = 5, damage [1d6] = 5
Mr. Choe:
(2nd shot) during Segment 3: [1d20] = 4
Choe aims more carefully and fires again:
This occurs segment 5: [1d20] = 8
This one happens segment 7: [1d20] = 15
Damage (for the segment 7 shot): [1d6] = 5
Kormak:
During segment 3 he fires at an uninjured Orc: Two-Handed Sword[1d20 +1] = 19+1 = 20 Dmg[1d10 +2] = 1+2 = 3 Lrg Dmg[3d6 +2] = 10+2 = 12
Mort:
Will shoot at one of the uninjured Orcs during segment 3: Crossbow, Light Hit[1d20 +3] = 3+3 = 6 Dmg[1d4] = 1
Maya:
This shot Occurs during segment 3:
Composite Bow: [1d20] = 18 Damage: S/M[1d6+3] = 5+3 = 8, L[1d6+3] = 1+3 = 4
Wolfram:
This will be used when party is in close combat:
Morning star to hit: [1d20+1] = 5+1 = 6, damage vs S/M opp: [2d4+2] = 3+2 = 5 / damage vs L opp: [1d6+3] = 4+3 = 7
Victor:
This will be used when everyone is in close combat:
Short Sword: [1d20] = 16 Damage: S/M[1d6] = 2, L[1d8] = 6
Idonea:
Then this is for segment 3: Bow: [1d20] = 8 Damage: [1d6] = 6
======================================================================

I'm cool with that, Maya finally took down an orc!
actions for victor has not changed either.
Maya, hearing the scream and knowing her arrow has reached it's mark, lets loose another since the orcs have decided against charging into melee.
Composite Bow: [1d20] = 2 Damage: S/M[1d6+3] = 1+3 = 4, L[1d6+3] = 1+3 = 4
Well... there goes my luck at the bow...

you mean my bolt I would assume. Mort has a light crossbow only can fire once a round/segment.Crossbow, Light Hit[1d20 +3] = 12+3 = 15 Dmg[1d4] = 4

It's a short bow from Kormak that i need Arrow Damage for!

Re: Chapter 8: A Camping We Will Go
kormak didn't use ranged that roll is for when he is in melee. He is a melee guy he does not use the bow usually ever. No idea why it was bought for him back when we did mass purchasing.

Somehow, that did not seem the way i read it before, so it felt like greywolftv had tonixx secretly alter his post so it wouldn't show!

Dungeon Master:
Ok, Looking at Maps to sort out distances.
The boulders that Wexley & Mr. Choe are hiding behind are right on the south bank of the Goblinwater creek approximately 25 some ft diagonally SE from the Orc Pyre.
The Orc Pyre is approximately 10 ft diagonally SW of another set of boulders on the north side of the Goblinwater creek.
Map:
Now will the Party move at 40 ft per round starting segment 4, unless you all decide to run up to Wexley & Mr. Choe that will be 120 ft/round.
The party is 65 ft from Wexley & Mr. Choe right now with 2 Orcs left standing, this time the Orcs will be at -4 To Hit when/if another volley of arrows/bolts go flying & unless i see if Wexley can spot
the other 2 Orcs.

Re: Chapter 8: A Camping We Will Go
Already rolled for Maya on another volley of arrows, missed either way.
Victor will use his previously stated action when melee starts, running the the brush that he has been using to attack the orcs. He has been staying out of sight but still closing in on the orcs this entire time in order to flank them, which was the initial plan
