Lutha Cee & Wolfram:
Wolfram digs out one of his throwing axes and starts testing its airflow, centre of gravity etc by swishing it around a bit, while holding on to the reins with left hand
Lutha: "Oi, watch it, lad! No man is thicker than water, you know". He keeps one eye on the surroundings, and also peers ahead at the people up front

Re: Chapter 5: A Dark Light
Mort keeps watching his side of the road both infront and to the side he will slow his horse if he see's anything other than trees and shrubs.
Borum showing obvious signs of dislike for riding a horse has his warhammer out as always.
Kormak has his short bow out and ready in one hand while holding the reins of his horse with the other.

Maya keeps watch over the surrounding area, looking for any signs of movement or activity.
Victor seems to be trying to find the horses ticklish spot.

Well, guess what?! As the party makes their way eastward on the North Caravan Road, they spot a flock of Titmouses, 4 perengrine falcons circling overhead, Robins, & Sparrows, a couple black
colored geckos nearest the Black river where it tends to flood the road, a groundhog & 6 deer with a week old baby Fawn wobbly following the Mom (there was one here in our yard yesterday afternoon until Noon today when
the young Mommy Deer finally came for it!).
The Party tried to spot the Shy Tower based on the map location but could not. Tombstones were seen in the area where the Graveyard is marked.
Seventy-four minutes later, the party reaches the little 20 ft wide bridge that crosses the 5 ft wide Goblinwater Creek, without incident! [Darn it!

Re: Chapter 5: A Dark Light
Mort halts his horse and signals for a stop to the rest. "Ewat I think a few of us should check the bridge ahead to ensure it is safe to pass. We can signal back to the others. What are your thoughts?"
Kormak "Eh whats the hold up Mort?" ye semi-hollers up to the front of the line.
Borum shakes his head at the half-orc "Durned foolish knucklehead. Why not just announce our arrival won't ya." he grumbles in a quieter tone than the half-orc to the half-orc.

Just a reminder that this bridge marks the spot the party indicated they wished to then follow the Goblinwater Creek into the Caves of Chaose Area!
Once i know where on the map the party's route is into the Caves' Valley, use this map to plot the route to the first cave you wish to explore!

I did my best to attempt a path drawing on the crazy maps man these need to be shrunk a bit.

Re: Chapter 5: A Dark Light
Wexley moves out from the party a bit and sets his backpack on the ground for a moment. Moving with caution, he removes on of the gourds from within and palms it should it become needed.
Carefully, leaving his backpack on the ground, he moves as quietly as he can towards the forest, stopping when he is about halfway between the party and the forest. His eyes scan the trees for signs of movement besides those of animal and wind. He holds the bow ready but unnotched should something spring forth suddenly.
Should something coming suddenly charging forth, Wexley will toss the gourd between him and the target. He will then retreat back towards, the party, notching his arrow for combat as he does.

Ok, so this is just wexley alone moving in towards the Caves of chaos from the road?
Is Wexley on the near side of the bridge or far side, i just need to get a fix as to which side of the Goblingwater Creek you will be on?
Also will you hug the Creek's bank as you move into the forest from the road or try a route somewhere between the creek & cave valley walls?
Also remember you have 17 horses with you, where will you locate them? They can be given commands to scatter & check back (don't forget to remove & hide the barding), until say two sun-ups from now for example, thanks to being trained by a Local Druid!

Re: Chapter 5: A Dark Light
From the way the map looked the road goes right by the caves of chaos so I am confused why we would follow a river that goes away from the area.

Yes, the North Caravan Road continues on past the caves area, it is the Goblinwater Creek that flows under the bridge from inside the Caves' Valley & continues southward into the Black river.

Re: Chapter 5: A Dark Light

Ok, give me a D6 roll check for each character that checks the bridge!

Re: Chapter 5: A Dark Light
Not taking the horses, I didn't know Wexley had one.... As for how far, he was simply attempting to scout halfway from bridge to forest/creek to see if his elven heritage and thieving skills would aid in keeping watch from the direction of the caves as others were checking the bridge. Figured that it would be advantageous to watch for ambush from the forest/creek region while the bridge is being checked. Overall, NO, Wexley is NOT going ahead by himself. So, he'd be facing that direction/on that side of the road with occasional glances and an ear to what is happening behind him/at the bridge *LOL* Not so inclined to already be stuffed in a body bag for a numbskull maneuver.
FYI: I have Wexley's character now under my control from ToniXX.

Dungeon Master Response:
Ok!
So Wexley is serving as lookout for the others as they become bridge inspectors!
Taking the horses is what got you there in 74 minutes!

Ewat nods to Mort, "Yup." He hops off his horse and notches an arrow. He proceeds to explore the bridge. [1d6] = 4
Idonea says to Kormak, "Ishatar's Shimmering Chamois, Kormak! If you're going to keep yelling to your buddy, just ride up the front of the line already. He could use the back-up, if he finds anything."

Re: Chapter 5: A Dark Light
Mort dismounts and follows Ewat with his crossbow in hand. He scans the area around the bridge then takes his foot and tests the first bridge support to see if it can at least hold a humans weight.
Kormak looks at the other two in the back and shrugs he then dismounts and leads his horse up to the front behind Ewat and Mort's horses then goes up to the bridge to help check things.
Borum to Idonea "Didn't have to be so rude but the lad is too durned loud. They claim us dwarves have no stealth well they need to mention we are quieter than half-orcs." still in a low toned voice he chuckles.
