I know this may sound silly, considering I enjoyed playing Rudolph for the two seconds I was able to, but they have got to be average over 30 HPs of damage against us a round. And there are more coming... so if you can get away:

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Ok, I'm open to suggestions for what Ingrid should say to the wolf.
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. That we can get them more to eat, that will do them less damage.
That they may win but it will come at a cost to the pack. If the pack even means anything to the wolf you are talking to!! ;)

Maybe just keep him talking so he isn't attacking? Ask him about the creature? Where it is? Maybe ask if it can be hired as a guide?

Really, I'm not sure They just seem mean! Nasty and mean.

Hopefully the concept of PACK should be important to them... I guess. So evil or not, they should be motivated to not have the any of the wolves in pack be further hurt. I'm grasping at straws, but I feel like straws is all we got... unless of course those straws lose initiative, then we are even more screwed.

Perhaps he'd fall for the old, "the rest of us are killing your mates and pups right now so you'd better run quick!" trick?

Oooooooo, RT that one is deviously good. Any sort of backfiring on that would be the death of us all, but then again that's essentially the situation we are in anyway!

If it starts to look any more dire, the characters still standing could make a run for it and hope the wolves are content with their current meals... I don't know if that is better than a TPK. (Especially for the already fatalistic Ingrid.)

Your "The rest of us...." idea would probably work- but you'll have to really sell it.

I would phrase it with a "so you better run quick" do it more sociopathic like

We were all willing to die so the rest of us could slaughter your pups.

a give an evil grin.

All right, I think Ingrid should be pretty convincing, but we'll see. I wouldn't have thought of the defenseless pups angle, so I'm glad you did Rusty! I think that gives us the best chance.

I only thought of the defenseless pup thing when you and Ron talked about pack mentality. From there, being a parent, it wasn't hard to think of what would get me to drop everything and run like hell. Parents are so darned predictable!

Figured I'd continue the trend ;)

Rudolph is likely gone anyway, but if the party can someone get out of this, that'd be pretty good!
PS: as a daddy of four young daughters, I totally agree with you on parents!!
