Please do not post more than one action per round after I call for actions.

Especially if they are two separate actions. It is confusing enough to follow a dozen players, we don't need to add to it.

I deleted the two players second posts to prevent future conflict.

I want to limit the size of starting groups to six members. I feel like the action becomes bogged down by too much unnecessary confusion when groups have too many members.

There may be exceptions to this rule somewhere down the line, but for now let's keep groups to 6 or less members.

Thanks!
So there are 12 of us. Six seems too few for an old school party to me. If 1-2 PCs from one group die, we're up a creek. But if we must make two groups, how about:

Group 1:
Human Fighter
Fighter/cleric
Fighter/magic-user
Druid
Thief
Magic-user

Group 2:
Ranger
Cleric/magic-user
Magic-user/thief
Fighter/illusionist
Thief
Dwarf Fighter

All classes represented as evenly as possible. One nature type per group.

Just getting the discussion started. Open to all suggestions. :)

Thoughts?

I don't think it could be split up any more even than this.

I was simply trying to prevent one team taking 8 or 9 players and leaving the less desirables out in the cold. (I'm sure we can all remember picking teams in gym class. )

There are still at least three players that have expressed interest in making a character for this game, so there will be some fresh meat coming along eventually.

Yeah, but the difference here is the character that wouldn't get picked in gym class is the mage who will one day be throwing fireballs around willy-nilly.
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

So you'll lift the limit on group size? Great. :)

So we'll have three parties of 6, 6 and 3?
Or three parties of 5 each?
Or two parties of 6, and 3 waitlisted folks?

Sorry if I'm being obtuse. :)

Can we cross that bridge when we come to it?

Or do you need to know now for some reason?

Seems like a reasonable split. If Bonnie goes with group 1 and Lightfinger goes with group 2, there will be 4 characters in each group with infravision.

OM: just trying to figure out if we're making two teams of 6 now, or if we should wait a week and make three teams of 5 or two teams of 7 and 8, or something else. Hard to plan without knowing (see below). Or would you prefer we hold off on planning for now? :) If so, sorry I jumped the gun on you.

Jernau: good point!

Bluehorse: Hmm. That would put 4 fighters on one team and 2 fighters on the other. If/when the others join, if they include a fighter, maybe we could swing this depending on party size. :)
