CHAPTER 4: To Nuv Vano
Re: CHAPTER 4: To Nuv Vano
Sorry, my man. No comprende, you know? The Lebowski tried to teach me to read, but the letters all run together.
Belial takes a quick flight up to the top of these 'rocks' to look around.

Cthul Hand Luke, mutant
"Let's push forward," says Luke. "Nuv Vano would be mighty nice after all the critters and camping we done."

Oor-zak can read Pigmonn, so he translates (not sure where Dogma is, so I'll NPC his character)
The graffiti is a warning, in a mocking tone, to the pigmonn about the large salt deposits beyond this marker. The message uses the pejorative term “Pork Slabs” for the pigmonn.
Pigmonn have a phobia to salt, and “Pork Slab” refers to the fact that most humans and humanoids like the taste of pigmonn flesh.
Knowing the pigmonn phobia to salt, you should be safe from pigmonn attacks beyond the marker.

Bruze Whane, mutant bat:
The massive, furry bat thing nodded gently at Oor-Zak and Luke and returned to his aerial post, allowing himself to feel optimism about this seeming sanctuary from the Pigmonn plague.
Gliding alone with his thoughts, Bruze wondered what Nu Vano would hold for them. Would they find any members of The Church this far out? And if they did, what would they think of Bruze's heretic friends?

Frank Rock; veteran Human
Frank glances at Jack and says; "I hope you're right amigo...but let's stay alert anyways....Pigmonn aren't only things out there that seem to want to take our stuff, eat us or both."
The laconic veteran heeds his own advice and keeps a sharp eye and ear out.....preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best...

The Long Route, Day 36
Belail lands on one of the rocks and it appears to be securely anchored. He doesn’t notice anything beyond what Bruze has already described.
As you pass the markers, the Drot Swyne seem uneasy traveling through the salt-polluted region. They calm down after a mile or so and you continue east for the remainder of the day.

Day 37-38
The next two-days of travel are uneventful. The terrain has become more saturated with salt deposits and the sparse plant life is becoming more difficult to find. Wildlife has become non-existent as the environment changes into a sterile wasteland.

Re: CHAPTER 4: To Nuv Vano
Jack "Well could you tell if they were heading toward us or going the same direction we are? Were you able to tell what the movement was? Human or otherwise?" after asking his questions of Bruze the curiousness draws Jack to take out his spyglass and take a look in a 360 around the group to see if he can spot the travelers Bruze warned of or anything else from any other direction moving.

Come on, Brother Bat- Let's us go investigate further. Belial flaps into the air, going high before heading toward the unknowns.

The Long Route, Day 39, Morning
Bruze indicates they are heading towards you and they appear to be five humans or near-humans. One, a large brute, pulls a two wheel cart by a tongue slung over its shoulder.
Through his spyglass, Jack confirms the descriptions from Bruze. The group of five is now stopped in the middle of the Long Route.
Belial and Bruze fly towards the group, in an attempt to discover more.
How close are you going to move towards them?

Re: CHAPTER 4: To Nuv Vano
I'd say not closer than about 500m yards. No need to antagonize them- and let's be as obvious as we can, so they don't feel 'snuck up on'.

Re: CHAPTER 4: To Nuv Vano
...
Belial and Bruze fly within 500 yards of the group and perform an aerial maneuver to indicate nonaggression. Of the five, at least three sport firearms. One is larger than the others and doesn’t appear to be quite human. One of the members is short, about 3 feet high, and has a red tone to its skin.
The group takes up a defensive posture and watches the fliers.

Luke watches the flyers soar into the sky.
"Must be a nice view of the world."

Re: CHAPTER 4: To Nuv Vano
Belial spirals down, keeping his hands visible and making no obvious aggressive moves. He circles in front of the strangers at shouting distance (25 yards? )
Greetings, dudes and compadres! We're just making a road trip to NuvVano. We don't want no tussles with nobody! Can we be excellent to each other? Pass by peacefully? Maybe even make some wealth from barter?

Bruze Whane, mutant bat:
The young bat-thing eyes the strangers warily while Belial tests their hostility. Bruze unconsciously recoils at the sight of the massive inhuman, having been taught by The One True Church that all aberration of the flesh is an abomination... including his own.
