Vek nearly drops his weapon, staggering back under an onslaught of lines from that huge thing!
It relentlessly smashes over and over with its dry meat arms. Vek dodges or blocks most of these but the creature clips him again (11 damage). If that creature connects with both fists again, Vek will be in trouble!

As Vek pops backward further, he gives the rest of you a bit of room and the team peppers the creature with magic missile, acid arrow, and then a summon insects! It doesn't even seem to phase the beast!
However, Glimbles spell does recharge Vek a bit, and he will have the bless bonus next round!

"You're going to need more needle and thread," he rasps bleakly.

As Vek recovers with the help of Glimbles healing magic, he is punched yet again by the towering automaton of flesh.(12 damage)
Vek stumbles back again pushing Glimble back on his heels. The warrior spins his sword about and begins hacking pieces of the beast. First a hand, then a leg, then the head!
The thing goes down in a wriggling pile and Vek continues to chop until it finally stops moving! Whatever that ing was, it is dead now.
Suddenly Tella finishes casting and 7 kobolds spring into existence in the narrow hallway. They charge forth with battle cries, flinging past Vek, and a few stab at the dead tying before Vek.
The rest charge forth just in time as the assembled group of enemy warriors sets up. As they clash, at least two kobolds are killed immediately.
There must be at least 10-12 fighters in front of you, forming a shield wall 3 across. The are fighting with swords and spears.

Glimble "You're most welcome Vek. Good work on the eh.. here comes more trouble." the gnome cuts his sentence short with the incoming kobolds and other foes. The gnome uses a cure light wounds charge from his magical staff on Vek. Cure Light Wounds[1d8] = 4

The kobolds do a great job delaying the warriors for a moment. One by one they are cut down, but they go down swinging and screaming curses. As they fall the begin to evaporate like smoke.
A group of you focuses healing magic on Vek while Roseheart blasts the assembly with a color spray. The front row is dazed into unconsciousness as a flood of color overwhelms them. Behind them a group of men launch a volley of crossbow fire. The bolts thud into your group striking several of you. (Roseheart 9 damage, Vek 3 damage)
Enokas insect swarm then descends into the midst of the men. The black horde overwhelms one of the crossbowmen as he is reloading! He shrieks, drops his bow and slaps at the black waves of stinging insects.
You figure there are roughly 6 bowmen, and only 1 shield bearer left after the magical assault knocked out almost the entire front line. Its hard to see, so there may be more behind the line.

Roseheart reels back from the arrow damage and seeks a more secure place to allow the stronger fighters to do their dirty work. He quaffs a potion of healing as arrows are likely to continue to fly.

I have magic missile, ice ball, and lightning bolt left. Can do either, but maybe save the lightning for later - we just arrived
