Frodo badly wants to get to Hobbiton to confront Lotho about all this destruction in the Shire. He does not think wandering around through the fields will accomplish anything other than wasting precious time.

I don't want this to seem completely railroadish right off the bat, but most of this game happens along the path to Bag End. There is nothing to do out in the empty fields and the Shire doesn't house very many wandering monsters. :D
In our defense, I don't think we've dithered all that long at the blockade, and that it makes sense to consider our strategy from time to time. You may know that this is not a significant part of the planned adventure, but we don't.

And, of course, it's our duty as players to head immediately into the part of the map you didn't plan for!
That's for sure! Happens every time!

I hope that didn't sound too pushy. It was really just meant to entice some action and possibly a small attempt at humor.

Please help me welcome the 6th and final party member of the group.

Bluehorse will now be joining us, playing as the soft-spoken and mild mannered Farmer Cotton. (yes, that is sarcasm)

Welcome to the game BH!

Hey all! Not sure how this will affect things in the next week or so, but I just got hired on for my first Teaching job! only took my 11 years! LOL! Anyway, I am going to be living out of town during the week and the next week at the very least is going to be sketchy for me and any time i get online that is not directly work related (I have to have a 9th grade english/speech/journalism/multimedia class ready to go by monday... YIKES!) Anyway, wanted to let you know that if i am suddenly absent it was for a real reason! I'll keep you posted! (Pun)

I can't see the image in the post, OM.
That's ok. It is simply a map of where you just were.

Just in case you might need to remember that for some reason. ;)

So do the magical elven cloaks make the others invisible? Does that mean Hob is the only one in the party who is visible right now (though still being ignored)?

Great question! Thank you.

There seems to be a common misconception about how the Elven Cloak actually works, especially when it is worn indoors. It does NOT make one completely invisible. It has chameleon-like powers. I have always thought that if other party members have seen the cloak used before, they have a huge bonus to being able to see the person(s) wearing the cloak. You also need to be somewhat still for the item to work. You can easily be seen while moving around and most certainly while you are fighting.

Gary explained it like this:

They are a nice item but, they do not work the same as a Ring of Invisibility.

Only the 4 heroes have them. Neither Hob nor Cotton have one.
