Dreamlands (ooc and questions l)
Re: Dreamlands (ooc and questions l)
Kingdoms of the Hyborian Age is finally up. In addition to the Race you've chosen, please pick a country of origin and record it on your character sheet if you haven't already done so.
You needn't read the whole thing, just your homeland. Thanks.

Re: Dreamlands (ooc and questions l)
I'm not sure how well the thief I had in mind will work with a paladin, so I will come up with an alternative.
Re: Dreamlands (ooc and questions l)
I'll allow thieves and paladins to coexist in Hyboria.
The party needs a thief. And it will make for fun roleplaying.

Hi everyone,
I'm going away for a long weekend. I don't expect to be online. I'll be back on Monday night.
Maybe you could use this time to get your character sheets completed, and then we'll kick things off next week!
Have a good weekend, and Happy Mother's Day everyone.

Re: Dreamlands (ooc and questions l)
My mother's day celebration is a bit dampened because my mother-in-law was just admitted to the hospital. Seeing her today; not sure how serious. I hope the rest of you have a great weekend! I'm looking forward to reliving some of my favorite Conan stories. Maybe my character can get that hypnotizing skull from Red Nails?
Re: Dreamlands (ooc and questions l)
Sorry to hear that Ken-do-nim. Hope everything is well.

Thanks guys. The doctors are pushing for a heart transplant, so it's pretty serious. The good news is that they think she's an ideal candidate.

It's that little bit of silver lining that keeps us going, Ken. God's blessings!

Thanks! Well, in the short term, she's improving and anticipates going home by Wednesday.Inferno wrote:Sorry to hear that, Ken. I hope all is well.

Hey gang,
Completed character sheets, with inventory, encumbrance and movement, are due by end of today.
DMG p. 27 lists move rate restrictions by armor type, which could be useful.
Nation of origin is needed too. If you need suggestions, I'm happy to help.
Thanks!
Best,
Inferno

Re: Dreamlands (ooc and questions l)
Yeah, been procrastinating on the encumbrance. Man that should be automated in the character sheets!
Re: Dreamlands (ooc and questions l)
Most of you probably already know this, but p. 239 in the DMG also lists some encumbrance values. Have fun with the math and conversion.
Re: Dreamlands (ooc and questions l)
The game has begun, here.
We’ll begin in medias res, which is Latin for 'the little railroad.' No more railroad after today's post.
Thanks, everyone. Let's go!

Um, speaking of that railroad...
I don't want to buzzkill the great atmosphere of the intro, but I wanted to check: is create water still a valid spell? If so, Arthfael can create 15 gallons of water with one casting. We also have a couple of clerics who should be able to create about 4 gallons on water each. Our adventurers may be lost and hungry, but they shouldn't be thirsty.
Druids: don't get lost without them.
OTOH, any caravan that has a druid along and is surprised by a weather phenomenon wasn't thinking clearly.
If I'm nitpicking over flavor, sorry about that. I just wanted to check whether the whole lack of water thing was supposed to be a problem that's not easily solved.

Re: Dreamlands (ooc and questions l)
Ha. No, you can create water.
I'll modify the post to just starving.
If the druid happened to be casting predict weather within a few hours of the sandstorm striking, we can say the civilized southlander caravan merchant refused to listen to a barbaric Cimmerian trying to tell him his business.

Re: Dreamlands (ooc and questions l)
Oh, good.
As to predicting the storm: I figured that'd be a decent hook for a why a druid was with a desert caravan: to warn of dangerous weather. But giving warning of an oncoming storm is one thing; doing something about it is quite another.
