The whispering monsters would actually be to the right (south). You guys head south for perhaps 80 feet but then the hallway branches to you left and also continues on straight....

The grim killer is for unfairly surprising and ambushing the spider monsters in a manner cruel, bloodthirsty and unchivalric.

Moving slowly you press on toward the right. After another 50 feet another tunnel branches out to the left. Wanting to circle behind the spiders, you push further down to the south after clearing the branch by illuminating it with magical light.

It keeps on going straight maybe 80-90 more feet but then stops sharply and turns left. It doesn't appear to connect with that room the spiders were in....

* do you guys wasn't to follow this tunnel left and see where it leads?*

Thorax suggests they press on. "This place is a maze, let's keep on. This random direction is as good as any."

I concur, we have no specific path.

Turning left and pushing forward you see the corridor branching right and left but before you can inspect several figures at the edge of the light move behind a door and slam it shut. You heard voices and they sounded like goblins....

"Perhaps they would rather talk then die. I would suggest we not ask about you know who, but if nothing else they know the local area.". Assuming others are not scared off by Goblins Thorax proceeds to the door and waits for Gannon.

Your trip to the door is incident free, you guys want Ganon to check the door for traps?

Thorax hears nothing of the goblins through the door but it is a thick stone door.

Ganon:

Ganon approches the door with caution. He looks over the thick stone door.
"I hate stone doors. They always worry me the most. If there was going to be a magical trap on a door it's most likely on a stone door. You can't hide nearly as many mechanical traps on a stone door as a wooden one."
Ganon check around the framing of the door. He then shines his ring light into the cracks between the door and the frame looking for pressure plates.

Ganon checks the door,he finds no traps, it appears to be unlocked, and he doesn't hear anything on the other side right now...

Ganon breaths a sigh of relieve as he steps aside.
"The door is clear of traps. Now what lies on the other side I can't tell. The door is to thick for me to hear."
He then moves to the back of the party and readies his short bow.
