V. Going Underground
Re: V. Going Underground
Siirist tries to talk their way out of combat,"Hold on, a minute," he begins,"We didn't know anyone called this place home. We're just headed out right now. In peace."
He slowly begins backing away from the two armoured knights.

Morgan holds her fire, bow aimed at the armored men. She waits their response to Siirist or for the spell from Sasha to affect them.

Phineas T. Codswallop, impresario:
Phineas, bow held aloft and nocked like a tiny, lovestruck cupid, nods sagely and approvingly at Sasha's apparent, sudden realization of the incredible power of words, using them to sway the minds and actions of others.
He whispers out of the corner of his mouth usually reserved for a cigar, "I knew you'd come around to my way of thinking, babe."

Pendleton stays out of the way of heavily armored men with pointy sticks.

Re: V. Going Underground
Dagg is still more concerned with opening the door he is standing in front of hoping to see the man in armor on the other side.

Round 1
The mysterious armored humans hurl their spears without hesitation, targeting Siirist, who's in front, but both ranged attacks fail to hit their marks. Moments later, after some words being uttered in a strange tongue are heard, the men donning metal collapse into a deep slumber.
With everyone else preoccupied by the heavily armored, spear-toting guards, Dagg opens the door to the north... and is immediately greeted by a trio of similarly armed and armored men. None of the men speak, but two of them ready spears, while the third draws a broadsword and points its tip directly at the dwarven intruder. Two other men, and a 10-foot diameter column of black drapery that hangs from the ceiling are seen behind this initial row of guards.
Actions?
Rolls
Initiative: Monsters [1d6] = 3, Players [1d6] = 1
S (1-5), M (6): [1d6] = 1, [1d6] = 3

Re: V. Going Underground
Pendleton mutters something about poking hornets nests and stays out of the way, again, of angry men in heavy armor.
Re: V. Going Underground
Seriously pissed off, Siirist quickly crosses the rope bridge and uses his sword to end the lives of the two guards currently sleeping on the floor.

Bingus's eyes grow wide with fear as he sees yet more enemies. "That dwarf is as sharp as a mashed potatah!" exclaims the scrawny mage to Pendleton. "Shut that door, Dagg!" he yells.

Sasha begins to backtrack towards the ladder when she sees the numbers behind the now opened door, nearly falling over Phineas in the process. She sheaths her sword and switches to her bow.
Well, you did it now Dagg! You might as well go inside and introduce yourself while you're at it.

Dagg "Greetings my names Dagg." the dwarf says in his native tongue as he slams the door shut and makes to flee back the way he came.

Suddenly finding himself on the front lines, Phineas says, "As I already perorated, "a fascinating egress." You'll exculpate me, madam, if I render compendiary this, our incipient... Huh? Hey, where'd she go?"
Realizing he was talking to himself (again), the runty raconteur advanced to safety (19).

Round 2
With Morgan looking on, Siirist quickly crosses the rope bridge and uses his sword to end the lives of the two guards currently sleeping on the floor.
Near the entrance, with one hand on the ladder, Bingus' eyes grow wide with fear as he sees yet more enemies. "Shut that door, Dagg!" he yells, while Pendleton mutters something about poking hornets nests.
Sasha begins to backtrack towards the ladder when she sees the numbers behind the now opened door, nearly falling over Phineas in the process, who continues his chattering until he realizes he's been talking to himself, and, seeing the congestion building near the entrance, moves across the rope bridge towards Morgan.
"Greetings, my name's Dagg," the dwarf says in his native tongue before slamming the door shut and making a hasty retreat towards the others at the entrance.
The slammed door bursts open as the armored men, undeterred, hastily pursue the group, confronting them, with Dagg in the rear, atop the rope bridge at the intersection.

Re: V. Going Underground
Sasha realizes that the enemy has just put themselves in a bad position by bottlenecking at the bridge. The she elf hoped to end this peaceably, but knows now that will be impossible since the newcomer just murdered two of their number. She silently wishes she would have saved her spell for the larger group that is about to attack and left the other elf to fend for himself.
She hopes the sturdy dwarf can hold up to the attacks long enough for the numbers to be turned. She stabs at the enemy over the head of Dagg, the unlikely pair once again doing all of the dirty work.

Re: V. Going Underground
Bingus appears not to move, or to react at all to the armored men bursting forth from the door. But his placid visage masks the torment within, as he clenches his buttocks to keep from soiling himself from fear.
Re: V. Going Underground
Pendleton watches the combat with interest—from a safe (he hopes) distance.
"Don't you find it interesting," he asks Bingus, "that we saw primitive tribesmen descend to this place, but the men we have encountered are all in heavy armor? I wonder what the relationship is between these two seemingly disparate groups."

Re: V. Going Underground
Dagg ignores the statement and turns grinning "Aye bottle necked yah." he comments in common openly as he swinds at the armored fellow directly in front of him.
alright this really sucks terrible rolls from this thing i need my real dice.
Sword attack (Lvl 1): [1d20+1] = 1+1 = 2 to hit [1d6] = 1 dmg

Re: V. Going Underground
Round 3
The bridge provides a stable, but limited surface, allowing only a single melee attacker per side at a time.
The armored guard with the broadsword acts quickly and immediately engages with Dagg. He brings his blade down in a vicious arc which finds its mark and slices through the dwarf's armor, issuing him a deep gash. Dagg, reeling from his weakened condition, looks to retaliate, but his feeble counter with his own sword misses so badly, it allows the guard a retaliatory strike, which proves to be deadly, leaving Dagg collapsed on the ground in a bloody mess. Sasha acts quickly once Dagg goes down, stepping forward -- but not on -- her fallen companion, and successfully extracts some revenge when her sword blade catches the guard and issues him a fairly serious wound.
Siirist, Morgan, and Phineas find themselves "stuck" down the passage leading east, but the diminutive human, again takes out his bow and launches an arrow at one of the trailing guards (p5), finding his aim to be true.
Actions?
Rolls:
Initiative: Monsters [1d6] = 6, Players [1d6] = 5
Phin w/ bow: [1d20+7] = 14+7 = 21, [1d6] = 2
