Oor-Zak, MA gorilla
Oor-Zak remains close to the wagon, spear grasped anxiously in his hands and tenticles writhering nervously. The shimmering green sheets of radiation made him very nervous...

"Anyone see any tracks, perhaps we can avoid the beast that did this."
Did anyone have a tracking skill? ML, can we tell if the rabbit is an Animal(sentient) or an animal(non-sentient)?

If you dig through the bones, you should be able to tell if the beast was 4-legged or bipedal.Broggrim wrote:ML, can we tell if the rabbit is an Animal(sentient) or an animal(non-sentient)?

Frekken, MA Frog
Frekken gently begins to lift the bones to inspect the rabbit's physiology. "Poor bunny," he sighs.
Not just checking how many legs, but is it clear how it was killed--shredded by teeth for example, or something else?

Frekken’s inspection of the carcass determines the animal was in the form of a giant rabbit that moved on all fours. No teeth or claw marks are present anywhere. Most of the exposed bones look like they have been “melted”, but are hard like normal bones. Flesh and sinew remain on other portions of the carcass, which is rotting in the sun.

"Melted," Frekken says abruptly, clearing his throat. "Something melted its bones." He huddles close to the others as they travel and hopes to pass beyond the land of lights quickly.

Bart Booms in jests, "Fear not my slippery friend, if it where dragons it would say on the map"then deeper in voice, "Here be dragons!'"
He grins at his jest, even thou Frekken did not mention dragons.
Then in a more grievous tone, "Perhaps, the metal being that Ress of the Mount mention are capable."
If it was animal that did this it would not leave the meat. So, I'd guess radiation or such.

You continue on through the maze of light.
Passing through the fifteenth curtain, you noticed that the intensity of the lightfalls was growing weaker. An occasional animal bone was found, some being melted and others bearing signs of teeth or claws. No signs of recent tracks could be seen, and further investigation was inconclusive. You continued on without incident.
By the 30th curtain, you could see more clearly through each sheet. Some of the sheets appeared to stop falling for extended periods before a new band began to fall from high in the sky. The ground became less orange and small tufts of plant life were found. The droning hiss gave way to more natural ambient sounds such as the wind or possible distant thunder; source unknown. The ever present fog became less dense, disappearing or moving beyond your range of detection.
After travelling several hours, you pass through the almost invisible 43rd curtain successfully negotiating the Gam’A Zone barrier. With the light sheets behind you, the landscape before you appears rocky and uneven out to the mile distance illuminated by the barrier. It is three hours to daybreak.
