You don't know what spells BROTHER Tomas has, you've never asked him.

Brother Tomas has shown little interest lately in letting someone else use or hold or carry his talisman for him. He's got this! Maybe.

You can most definitely cast spells right out of your book. Only once though.

Whoever has the Protection from Evil on him cannot attack anyone or it dispels, so it should be someone who cannot harm the demon anyways.

If Pastor Tomas is going to use the talisman, being protected up to the point he uses it would be helpful.

Why would protection from evil be dispelled if someone attacks? It isn't a sanctuary spell, it's magical armour.

Nowhere in the description for Protection from Evil does it say it is dispelled upon attacking. That is Sanctuary.

• -If the demoness is illuminated, Ugghra will attack her. (If she was illuminated before combat begins, then Ugghra will charge her. But he won't charge into darkness. What if she's hovering over a pit? )

I want in on this too! Since I was trying to solicit suggestions for who the priest should cast PfE on, and Ugghra went ahead and cast it upon himself, Dowling would cast it on Epi. If others were taking a moment to cast spells upon themselves, he would have definitely wanted to protect her before she went down the rope.
