do we have an 'up the rope climbing order'? just asking because I think the first ones up will attack sleeping ugly before the rest get up the rope?

I'd be willing to go on the earlier end, since I have levels as a fighter as well as a thief. If anyone thinks it prudent, I could also go invisible for the foray (potion).

Waiting on a response from Ron as to whether a coup de gras is possible on a magically sleeping giant...

Sorry, working on an interesting question from the ranger. :)

For this giant (as you'll see) he is passed out drunk, as well as magically slept. You are pretty certain he won't wake up. :)
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Killing the sleeping giant is certainly Phaeus's view and he would be happy to do it 'mercifully' and toss the severed head to the beasts below...

As much as I like feeding the cute puppies, it would behoove us to make him appear to still be sleeping in a drunken stupor. The less attention we call to ourselves, the safer we will be.

Agreed. We need to 'kill him softly' and not make a huge mess or fuss.

Agree.

Should we have the black bears create a disturbance on the other side of the Steading by riling up the warg pen?

Are we going to let the first giant in the tower continue to sleep or kill him? I was under the impression we were going to do the latter.

A couple of quick things...

-Proposed Marching Order: I'm good with this

-Silence Spell: It will last 14 rounds....I don't remember in 1E though if a round is a minute or 6 seconds? Also; part of the reason the spell would be cast on a Sling Bullet is so that it could quickly be tossed somewhere to either silence opposition and/or to allow for our own spells to be cast

-Our ultimate mission is to end the threat of the Giants, right? This isn't a 'sneak and peek' mission correct?

Marching order looks good here, too.

The silence spell is going to be best employed when/if we come across a giant shaman or caster and need them not to cast spells. We have people who can scout silently. So I'd save it for when we're in combat and going by rounds vs. going by turns (when it would expire before we made to more "moves").

Yes, eliminate. But I think being sneaky about it, eliminating as many as we can one or two at a time is definitely to our advantage.

You guys have discussed it, but no one has killed the sleeping giant in the tower. He's in a deep sleep as you all have been tromping around up there without waking him. Everyone but Phaeus (until the next action post) is still up in the tower, so this is something you can rectify if you want to.

Or if I missed an Action Post, please let me know, then I'll rectify. :D

Arnar stated that intention as soon as he climbed the tower.

Fair enough. I saw the "If they..." and wasn't sure what you were doing there. I thought I saw debate over it as well.
But the dwarf was one of the first folks up into the tower, and considering the legendary love between the dwarves and giants, it's understandable that a kindly swipe of your sword across his neck would be fully expected!
No worries here, the small possibility that an attempt would wake the big guy up was mitigated by the sprites' arrows.
I'll update and note in Monday's post.

Okay, so I basically see 3 main options for dealing with the awake Ogres and the asleep Giants....

1. Wait and see what happens...presumably in the hopes that the Ogres leave or stay so busy they don't notice as we slip past

2. Attack them

3. Attempt to negotiate/charm/threaten/whatever the Ogres to gain allies and/or information

What option are people most leaning towards? The first obviously doesn't require much in the way of decisions from us :); but if we do the second; I'd recommend me casting Silence on a Bullet and putting it in the midst of the Ogres while we make a sudden, hopefully QUICK attack.

If the third; I'm not in a position to do much, other than keep lookout; sneak into a position to be a useful guard/threat.

Thoughts?
