Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Lubidius, human male Thief
Lubidius bids his fellow teammates farewell and then notices the crazy elf pointing his wand at a door and he is about to say; "I can try to pick the-"; and is cut off by the Elf triggering a magical effect, which causes Lubidius to instinctively drop and cover. Upon seeing the globe of darkness engulf the door; the Thief picks himself up with a sigh and says a silent prayer to any Gods that might be listening to protect him from insane mages....

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
All around Alains grows very dark and some of the part begins to think that there might be Drow in the area. A 30' diameter around Alanis is nothing but a cloud of darkness the mage and door have vanished within the darkness. Gandrel finds himself inside a cloud of darkness he cannot see his hand if it were in front of his face.

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Inside the cloud of darkness Alanis can be heard either struggling or something, "Damned door! Using your magics to change my mind was clever, but I shall have the last laugh!! Yield your secrets to me!!!!"

Gandrel moves out of the darkness as directly as possible. Once he emerges he shakes his head:
"That crazy mage will get us into serious trouble sooner rather than later. Now where's the new guy gone?"

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
There is a noise over by the door either they picked the lock or something is coming it the door in the darkness. There is the sound of someone slumping to the floor and Lubidius swears he can see blood pooling out of the darkness.

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Neev cast Light in an attempt to counter the darkness.
Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Lubidius draws his magical sword in a flash while calling out; "I think one of our party has been grievously wounded, watch yourselves!"
He backs up a bit and watches anxiously for any sign of a threat emerging from the darkness....

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
The light spell does not counter the darkness spell. Wand of wonder darkness spell is cast as if by a 10 lvl caster. You'd need to cast dispel magic or just wait it out. something does burst in through the once locked door but nobody can see what it or they are. A fresh smell of orcs enters the room. "Nice trick with the coins but we found you SLAVE!" comes a shout from the darkness.

Eirik the Just:
The paladin didn't get far when he heard the sound of orcs near his friends! Eirik doubled back with Theodore, to aid his comrades.
Eirik will unsheath Ecliss, his holy sword, and be ready to cleave any orcs that emerge from Alanis' darkness. (The sword dispels magic, I think. Thanks.)
Until he returns to Tragidore to verify Trask's unlikely tale, Eirik won't trust the rogue, and will keep an eye on him.

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Gandrel backs up, nocking an arrow so he is ready to fire at whatever emerges from the darkness.
Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Neev sets his shield before him and tightens the grim on his mace.

Thifli, Dwarf Fighter
Being witness to the event in the room, Thifli charges forward and attacks the nearest orc with his battle axe.
Axe: to hit [1d20] = 5, damage = [1d8] = 3

Eirik the Just:
Nope! Dispel Darkness: [1d100] = 91
Where is Trask? When is the last time Eirik saw him? Thanks.
The young paladin continued to serenely await an enemy to emerge from the darkness, to murder with his holy sword.

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Trask went to help Alanis in the darkness then some orcs busted in and yelled and then something is bleeding out of the darkness.
The sounds of orcs pushing into the room and then out of the darkness cloud comes a group of orcs. The orcs having a bit of a surprise/advantage despite the loud shouting and movements get to act first. At least one of them has dispatched either Trask or Alanis. Neither has made a sound from the cloud of darkness.
Init PCs [1d10] = 9 NPCs [1d10] = 7
The Orc Troupe Leader points his swords at the party and proclaims "Drop you're weapons, and submit or perish here!"
The other orcs not all seen yet aim their weapons at the other party members in the room.

Eirik the Just:
Holy Long Sword: To Hit: [1d20+5] = 19+5 = 24, Damage: S/M: [1d8+5] = 3+5 = 8, Damage: L: [1d12+5] = 7+5 = 12
Holy Long Sword: Bonus Damage if Target is Evil: [2d6] = 7
15 damage if he's medium sized. 19 if he's large.
Eirik's answer was a savage attack on the orc leader with his holy sword.GreyWolfVT wrote: The Orc Troupe Leader points his swords at the party and proclaims "Drop you're weapons, and submit or perish here!"

Gandrel tries to shoot before melee is engaged:
Sheaf Arrow Hit [1d20+3] = 6+3 = 9 Dam [1d8] = 8
Sheaf Arrow Hit [1d20+3] = 19+3 = 22 Dam [1d8] = 3
