Tella - Elf Mage
Tella will do her best to keep the sphere on the ooze/spider thing as long as she does not endanger herself or her comrades.

Re: 5- Down the Well, Undermountain, Trip 2
Glimble returns the strikes to the drow. or doesn't..... how does it get three attacks on me? what is it double specialized?
Footman's Mace Hit[1d20] = 2 Thac0=18 Damage[1d6+1] = 5+1 = 6

Dark Elves/Pale Statues, Sacrificial Altar - Round 8a
The Fight in the Hallway
Seizing the advantage, Cormack plants his axe into the drow fighter before him, cutting him down as a barrage of bats, whirl down at the party (causing 1 damage to Cormack, with a very lucky shot)
As Ganon faces down the last drow warrior, Roseheart calls out, "glaciem ad faciem", a light dust of powdery white substance falls about Roseheart's, feet and then an honest to goodness snowball plows the drow elf in the face! It is a real mean one, with any icy core, and it splits the drow's nose, shooting rivulets of blood and water about the dark hallway, as the drow calls out in surprise and pain!
Pressing the newly gained advantage, Ganon leaps in and with a series of fast attacks, gets past the drow fighter's defense and ends the fight.
No enemies remain in the hallway, but the silent swooping bats. They appear to lose focus on your group, and then whirl away into the dark hallway, heading out, too far to see, past row after row of armored warriors of bone-white stone. Ahead of you, past the globe of darkness, you hear: shouts and cries, the ring of steel, the roar and crackle of fire, amongst other strange sounds, slithering-hissing noises that just shouldn't be....
HP/special:
Ganon: 7/20 *protection for evil, 2/8 rounds*
Cormack:36/46
Roseheart:8/11

Re: 5- Down the Well, Undermountain, Trip 2
Roseheart clearly relieved the battle is over. "Listen guys, I hate to have to pass through that darkness, but we do have comrades in peril. Let's push on through," he, with some difficulty, convinces himself to claim.
Re: 5- Down the Well, Undermountain, Trip 2
Cormack - HP: 36/46
Without looking at his comrades, Cormack hefts his axe onto his shoulder and heads towards the darkness. "Come friends, battle rages elsewhere. The others are having fun without us."

Re: 5- Down the Well, Undermountain, Trip 2
Ganon:
"I'm right behind you just need to get my bow." He runs back to where he dropped his short bow and picks it up leaving the fired arrows behind. He quickly falls inline with his two other comrades and will enter the black globe after Cormack.

OOC --- Hey guys, I couldn't find time to post this morning. I should be kicking off Round 8b, tomorrow or Monday. Round 9 will be merged again, not split into A and B.
Re: 5- Down the Well, Undermountain, Trip 2
Dark Elves/Pale Statues/Sacrificial Altar - Round 8b
In the Altar Room:
Vek dispatches the drow in front of Glimble. He comes barreling over, and with a pair of low fients, he sets the drow up for a high strike. The drow parries it, but isn't strong enough, and the long sword cleaves it in the face. The drow dies messily on the ground, until Glimble ends the misery with his footman's mace.
When he looks up, Vek is running into the globe of black and calling for Roseheart. Vek makes it to the other side of the globe to find Roseheart, Ganon, and Cormack jogging over toward him, with a whole pile of dead drow littering the large hallway. *You guys group up and Vek leads you over at the beginning of next round.*
Thorax jumps forward at the last of the bean conjured, giant spiders as it leaps at him biting into his armor with huge teeth. It can't get through the dwarvish steel plate, and Thorax hacks into its head with his axe! Down into a twitching pile of ectoplasm the beasty goes... only the spider/ooze thing remains.
The massive spider switches tactics, and charges Tella! With sweat dripping off her brow from the magical fury she's unleashed today, she is able to weave the fireball to hit the spider as it charges. Some of the hair on the spider withers into smoking ruin as it is burned by the ball, but it charges with unnatural speed! As it closes the distance it morphs back into the ooze and a whirl of tentacle/psuedopods beat and bash at the lady wizard! It knock's her back (roll a con check to maintain control of your fireball for the beginning of next round) hitting her a total of 4 times! (15 damage!)
HP Update:
Tella: 2/24
Thorax: 24/45
Glimble: 25/33
Vek:43/49

Glimble casts cure light wounds on Tella. Cure Light Wounds[1d8] = 8
"Gond grant me the healing powers to aid my dear friend Tella." the gnome prays out loud.
I've got another of these left if we need it and I think Tella will need it.

Tella - Elf Mage
Tella winces in pain from the hits but tries to maintain control of her sphere of flames. Being knocked back she will try to continue back and bring the sphere between herself and the thing (attempting to use it as a shield).
Con check: [1d20] = 10
Constitution check succeeded. She has the constitution of an ox.
Flaming sphere: [2d4] = 4
4 damage, pfffft....

Thorax looks up, bloodrage filling his eyes and a silent scream on his dying in the eerie silence. He hurls himself at the thing charging recklessly into it and swinging for all he is worth. Curses, oaths, and battle-prayers pouring from him fevered lips Roll to hit [1d20] = 18 for Roll for damage [1d8+5] = 6+5 = 11 and then Roll to hit [1d20] = 5 for Roll for damage [1d8+5] = 1+5 = 6
Re: 5- Down the Well, Undermountain, Trip 2
Tantos Vek, failed paladin:
Prayerless, oathless, curseless, wordless, Tantos Vek grimly advanced on the writhing tentacled horror and brutally hacked at it with his unforgiving sword.
Vek Long Sword: To Hit: [1d20+6] = 10+6 = 16 . Damage: S/M: [1d8+7] = 7+7 = 14 , L: [1d12+7] = 11+7 = 18
Vek Long Sword: To Hit: [1d20+6] = 11+6 = 17 . Damage: S/M: [1d8+7] = 3+7 = 10 , L: [1d12+7] = 7+7 = 14
THACO is 16. Hits AC 0 and -1.

Re: 5- Down the Well, Undermountain, Trip 2
Roseheart hangs back behind the capable warriors (particularly his comrade Vek if possible) as he is without any remaining spells and looks a bit bloody from his recent exchange.
Re: 5- Down the Well, Undermountain, Trip 2
Dark Elves/Pale Statues/Sacrificial Altar - Round 9:
Altar Room:
As the tentacles whip and beat her, Tella grimaces and directs her fireball right back into the foul oozing menace! Wisps of foul reeking tallow flesh crisp and burn as the fire slams into the beasts back once more! Glimble leaps forward tapping Tella upon the back and granting her a heal spell (HP updated). At this time, Vek, Ganon, Cormack, and Roseheart emerge from the black globe, just a few feet away! (you can act last in the turn)
As the creature hisses in pain from the flame, its eyes track Thorax who charges over to the beast swinging madly with his axe! He plunges the whole area into eerie silence from his spell, and plants an axe strike into the beast as tentacles whirl up to attack him! His strike slices off a pile of ectoplasm, leaving it dripping on the ground. Then a whirl of counter attacks batter into the whole lot of you. Tella is struck once (4 damage), Glimble is struck twice (10 damage), and most of the other attacks are focused on Thorax. Seeing the power of the dwarf, it sends most of its psuedopods his way, and while most of them bounce harmlessly away off his armor, two of them knock him back reeling (nat 20 on one hit, 17 total damage).
Then the creature fades into mist again, black smoke piling up into a pillar oozing straight up into the air! Tantos Vek's blade slips silently though nothing as the smoke rises up into the black of the room!
HP/special:
Ganon: 7/20 *protection for evil, 3/8 rounds*
Cormack:36/46
Roseheart:8/11
Tella: 6/24
Thorax: 7/45
Glimble: 15/33
Vek:43/49

Re: 5- Down the Well, Undermountain, Trip 2
FYI, with Thorax's silence spell in effect, none of you can speak to each other, or cast healing magic this round, unless he chucks or fires off the bolt...
Re: 5- Down the Well, Undermountain, Trip 2
Luckily, with the thing far away the only way for Thorax to hurt it is to shoot it. Not even aware of the spell any longer her fires at the beast. Roll to hit [1d20] = 19 the magical bolt flies true, but will it sting?Roll for damage crossbow [2d4+1] = 3+1 = 4 orRoll for damage crossbow large [1d6+1] = 6+1 = 7. Tella - Elf Mage 13/24
Seeing the thing turn back into mist and move away she will turn her attention to herself. Grabbing a potion of healing she will quaff it quickly. Seeing one more remaining she will offer it to Thorax. Bloody beast that thing was! She will say holding the vial out to him.
Potion of healing [2d4] = 5+2
My thanks Glimble, I think your prayers likely saved my life! She will say with a nod rubbing soot and blood from her forehead, not realizing she's just making herself dirtier.
She will try to keep an eye out for where the oozy mist thing went.
OCC: Potion removed from sheet. Will remove the other if Thorax accepts. No preference indicated handing out the healing, just grabbing the lowest HP folks in range first. Want to make it outta here with the story!

Thorax fires the silence arrow up into the cloud that the ooze creature just became. (Glimble you will be able to talk)
From the distance you hear Rhaeggeff moan and stir... some of the nearby prisoners are praying, most are just sitting there, bound and shaking. One of them just wretched...

Glimble starts to reach for a healing scroll in his pocket then stops as the arrow of silence flies and casts cure light wounds on Ganon if he is within reach otherwise he casts it upon Thorax Cure Light Wounds[1d8] = 2
