Back in the saddle!
While the ashes of Roan Son of Rune are for all time interred in the great pyramid, perhaps a small piece of him will infuse whatever new creation I can dig from the cobwebs of my character sheets.
Not sure where to begin...but I'm sure Inferno will tell me.

ChubbyPixie, Raven, Urson and Yrkoon, a new experience point award is here. (scroll down to the bottom of the post.)

Bluetongue, hedgeknight and Paladin, you three are making new characters.
Character Generation Rules are here.
Except your PCs start with 8500 experience points.
And please start with a +2 weapon, and a +1 weapon or shield (or their equivalent in value). I might add more. (Barbarians can't use magic weapons, so I'll give a permanent stat point bonus)
You can also use that thread to talk about your PCs or ask me chargen questions.
House Rules are here.
The World of Howard's Hyborian Age is here. (First 9 posts)
Posting Rate: I post twice a week, like clockwork. So, 3 days after a DM post, I'll likely push forward with whatever player posts I have. Gotta keep moving.
PC Array:
Urson has a Fighter (amazon with sword and javelin)
Raven has a Cleric/Magic-User (enlightened sorcerer-priest)
Yrkoon has a Barbarian (savage warrior of the north)
Pixie has a Fighter/Magic-User (giant mystic warrior of the east)
Bluetongue is creating a new Cleric/Fighter (nomadic romany archer)
It's a low magic world, so we're good with casters, unless you really want to play a Cleric. Can never have enough of them.
I guess we could use a Thief, and the Hyborian Age can always use another Fighter type.
But most importantly, I'd prefer you create a character you will be thrilled to play for years to come. So please make yourself happy. I can always add an NPC if needed. This module doesn't demand a well balanced party. You could all be fighters and have a fighting chance.
Once your characters are done and approved we can get rolling, hopefully this weekend.
Welcome aboard. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: In the Mind of Man (ooc and questions V)
As usual, I have no freaking clue what to play. So many choices...
Give me a day or so to read up and wrap my head around what I want to do.
Was originally thinking a Stygian priest or priestess spitting unholy rites of power...then I woke up from drooling on the couch...

Take your time. No pressure.
I may have a post with just the surviving PCs first, to transition them. Not sure yet.
Re: In the Mind of Man (ooc and questions V)
A Zingaran thief is looking pretty good to me.
Or Atlantean. I can see fun options for both.

Welcome, fresh meat! Errr... new players! Inferno: I'll update as soon as I can get to my character sheet. Thanks!

Welcome, Paladin and hedgeknight!
Apologies in advance for Cruloc's lack of manners.
I think we'll all miss Garrin's protection from evil aura.
What kind of stat increase are you suggesting, Inferno?

Grigor
I am thinking of playing cleric/fighter based on an idea of a nomad cossack-styled gypsy. So in game context he would herald from the land of Zamora and have travelled probably across the Steppes and around the great lake. With his high dex and nomad bonus to range weapons it seems a good choice to equip him with a bow. Currently debating wether a magic bow makes him overpowered ....
As far as religion goes, his faith stems from being very superstitious and an assimilation of local diety and folklore beliefs rather than an ordained heirachy. So prayers to saints via votive offerings, incense, tea leaves and determining Gods will by the throw of some knuckle bones. (The more recently amputated the better the augury ... ).

A ranger of Koth or a thief of Zamora?
Or a magic-user/thief of Stygia?
Thoughts from other players?? My goal is to have my character done by Super Bowl kick off

Thief of some kind might be good.
But whenever I can't decide something like this, I write a paragraph introductory post for each and see which one is the easiest and most fun to write for. Some characters just write themselves.

Alright, I'm working up a Zamorian Thief named Dahinna abd Jakwar, but I'm stuck on choosing a portrait. I've narrowed it to three:
When you think of the name Dahinna (pronounced "Da-HEE-na"), a thief from Zamora, which portrait fits?

Re: In the Mind of Man (ooc and questions V)
Well number three has already stolen my heart but the second looks in my mind more 'romany' and of slighter build, more dressed for adventure. Blue lips belongs in Ravenloft.
Re: In the Mind of Man (ooc and questions V)
Cruloc will find it difficult to be rude to any of them.
