Ok, the list problem is due to, I believe, the list bbcode not being used correctly.
Here's a correct, bulleted list:
  • item 1
  • item 2
  • item 3
Please note that in front of each list item, this code must be used WITHIN the list tags:

Code: Select all

[*]
thus:

[list]
[*]item 1
[*]item 2
[*]item 3
[/list]
When you leave out that asterisk bbcode, the first item gets a bullet, but no others in the list get one.

I fear this might have been what is going on in your second example.
"Sir, our research shows that the bird is equal to or greater than the word."

I just did some testing and all lists do require the [*] now. Which is unfortunate because that wasn't the case before. For instance, I know I would routinely use the list tag for indentation which just looks silly now. Oh, well.

Tests
1) No list item tags used:
  • A
    B
    C
2) No list item tag for item 1, but used for items 2 and 3:
  • A
  • B
  • C
3) Indentation test; no list item used:
  • Indent

Yup. Me too.
Sounds like it can't be fixed. Ok. Thanks anyway, guys.

rredmond wrote: Mon Jul 13, 2020 2:32 pm Two neato things I've found. The first was that the font was so BIG now. But when I went into my User Control Panel, on the Board Preferences tab, in Edit Global Settings, I saw that the "Would you prefer the font to be larger?" toggle was set to "YES" - I changed that to "NO" - a world of difference! I may be an old grog, but not that old. ;)
This is what I needed!

I think Dave has found a fix for the second one. The formatting tags need to be inside the url tags. Try that. The first one is all Greg. :D
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Oops. Sorry. Answering Inferno’s question on the last post of the last page. Didn’t realize we’d moved on to page 4. Guess that’s the ‘Servants way of saying go to bed. :)

I wonder if there's a bbcode tag out there that simply increases indentation. That would be pretty useful.

I could probably figure out how to do it with a custom bbcode.

Here it is... It couldn't be simpler:

This text is not indented.
This text is indented
This text is not indented.

Code: Select all

[indent]This text is indented[/indent]
"Sir, our research shows that the bird is equal to or greater than the word."

You can even stack the indent tags.

Sweet! I thought that might work but wasn't sure.

Digging some of the new shortcuts already!

If you are able to add a link to the roller in the dropdown box for apple users, I think that would be sufficient.

Darn it! I hate when "undocumented features" get fixed as if they were bugs.

Something I've noticed: I can see the log of banned e-mail addresses and users in the moderator control panel now. Was that was always there and I never noticed it, or is it new? If the latter, is it bad that I can see that? FWIW, some of rredmond's banning comments are amusing:

Oh, hey! Inline attachments don't have full-width boxes around them anymore! Nice! Although white space seems to be handled differently now. Before, I'd have to put text immediately after the attachment tags to avoid having extra white space. Now, I need two blank lines after the attachment tags to get one line in the displayed message. I wonder if that happens with spoilers, too:

Let's test it.

Sure does. So one blank line before the tag = no blank lines, and two blank lines before the tag = one blank line. Huh. Not sure if that's a bug or a feature (see how I brought that around to my first comment?), but it's a change.

Were you able to see the moderator control panel on the previous version of the forums?

I think so? I almost had to, to be able to manage who was in my games, right?

For the [indent] tag, is it possible to make it work over multiple lines? I just tried to replace a "list-indent" in one of my post with [indent][/indent] tags, but only the first line was indented.

I think back in September Inferno let us know that he could see the MCP actions. I believe all of the Forum Mods probably were able to see them, at least at that point. You just didn't notice them :D
And in my defense:
1. That's a great Tull song;
2. It was tibbius' birthday;
3. Those dang spammers tend to register in packs... so it's either ignore the "reason for ban" or have fun with it!

I didn't test this. Yes, being able to indent an entire list (and not need to indent each list item individually) would obviously be nice.
