Docking permission requested.

#1 Post by Ecthelion »

Hello people of the web,
I'm new in the forum and new also in a english forum, so forgive my mistakes.
Long time player of dnd 3.0/3.5, pathfinder 1e, pathfinder 2e, and other minor experiences with other rpgs pen&paper live/pbf/roll20, I'm here to find a PbF to try Cepheus Engine (or similar).

See you in space, or in a dungeon.
The stars themselves once lived and died at our command, yet you still dare to oppose our will.

Welcome Ecthelion!
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Welcome.

I don't think we have any Cepheus Engine games at the moment, but we do have Traveller and Stars Without Number.

I have no clue what Cepheus Engine games are but we are just starting a Stars without Numbers game if you are interested.

Tiglath is running a great Traveller game, and that'll work with Cepheus Engine.

Welcome aboard! :)

Leitz is a most generous ambassador for my game! 8-)

Please also check out The Bindoner's game: https://www.unseenservant.us/forum/viewforum.php?f=978

He is actively recruiting here: https://www.unseenservant.us/forum/view ... 80#p649980

I'm sure that this game is both very good (it must be - I'm in it! :P) and also compatible with Cepheus Engine.
Player: Jonathan/Tiglath

Hi Ecthelion, welcome to Unseen Servant.

Thanks for the kind words Tiglath

I'm using Mongoose Traveller 1st edition, with scraps from 2nd, and Cepheus developed out of the MgT1 OGL/SRD, so everything is very similar - the main difference a player will notice is in character generation, after that the task resolution is pretty much the same.

We could certainly use another player, and this is an opportune time for someone to join.

I would love to try it, is it possible to create a whole new character?
Would it be a problem my total ignorance about the system?

A new character is ideal, to be honest, especially for someone new to the rules.

I'll PM you and we'll get started.

The Bindoner and Tiglath are great gamers and good people. You won't go wrong with either of them, and they are super helpful for newbies.

This is my first time playing WWN and we are still making characters so I am not the best person to explain it. I am just going off shaidar's post that it is close to cepheus engine which I am even less familiar with (as in "I know nothing!"). As far as playing on the site and learning new rules everyone on the site is always helpful in my experience. I have learned a lot from many different players. Never be afraid to ask questions and someone usually steps up and helps out.

Welcome!
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.
