The Will to Live (character creation)
Re: The Will to Live (character creation)
Arthfael is basically ready. Still no description or background, but all the equipment and stats should be there.
Re: The Will to Live (character creation)
Hey gang,
Thanks for the progress on the character sheets!
All Casters: Please memorize spells. The game will begin in a survival situation, in an arid region, if that helps you select spells.
Mant: Good to go! Thanks.
Grog: Looks good! Which 4 of your 5 weapons is Biblo proficient in? Thanks.
Ogre Mage: I'll allow studded armor for your Savage. We'll say its studded with bone. Good to go! Thanks.
Zhym: Looks good. Please memorize spells. Also, I know you couldn't get background and description done by yesterday's deadline. When do you expect that you can get them done? Thanks.
Ken: Looks good. Please fill out encumbrance. I think your movement will be 9".
From what nation does Goniza hail? Atlanteans are found in the nations of Aquilonia, Nemedia, Argos, and Corinthia. Nemedia is famed for its scholars, if that's your idea of the character.
I know you couldn't get background and description done by yesterday's deadline. When do you expect that you can get them done? Thanks.
Hedge: Looking good. Do you have the book, Unearthed Arcana? If not, I can get you the Barbarian class info. For example:
Lightly armored Barbarians double their AC mod from Dex. Their base move is 15. They get saving throw bonuses and skills you haven't recorded.
Fyi: for this game, Barbarians will advance in level at the same rate as paladins.
Dave: I saw that your character concept fell over.
What's your ETA on the barest bones; name, class, race, appearance? Thanks.
Thanks everyone. We're close. I'd like to start the game tonight, if possible!

Cool! Thanks!
I guess I spaced on the no metal rule when I was thinking about studded leather armor.
Excellent compromise, sir.
I am very much looking forward to the start of this one!!!

Description & background: I'm not optimistic about being able to get to that soon. How about a picture instead?
OTOH, Grizzly Adams doesn't really fit the Celtic druid mold I see Artfael fitting in. So...yeah, I dunno yet. Sorry.

We're trying to get our house on the market by tomorrow and my PhD advisor thinks I should be publishing research for some reason. I probably should have passed on this game for lack of time but it does sound cool. If you could bear with me and tolerate a blank slate character for now I'd appreciate it. And if you're looking for a depth of role play and character planning I can't spend the time on right now, I'll drop out and no hard feelings.

No, I want you in. I'll happily 'bear' with you.Zhym wrote:We're trying to get our house on the market by tomorrow and my PhD advisor thinks I should be publishing research for some reason. Good luck with the house sale.

Thanks, Zhym and Hedge!
Hedge, you'll have a few days to reply. I'm looking at 2 DM posts a week.

Re: The Will to Live (character creation)
I'll be in Atlanta for the next few days on a business trip, so I'll have time in the hotel room to get encumbrance done. Goniza is from Nemedia, yes. I generally don't write up a background until my character reaches level 2Inferno wrote: Ken: Looks good. Please fill out encumbrance. I think your movement will be 9".
