I'm going to wait for Dram to make Bragar's rolls and pick which stone to grab first (I mean, unless he never logs in again). I'm also going to be on the road this weekend so I may not get a chance to update until Sunday if Dram doesn't happen to post this afternoon.

It's only a small cliffhanger.

There is no time to climb the statue now

Is this true, Zhym? Would it take a PC more than a minute to climb one of these statues?
What if the PC had a Climb Skill, like Scarlett?

If it can be done, but Scarlett can't climb and throw gems in one round, could she feasibly climb and knock the gems from their perch? One of the several PCs waiting below could then gather the fallen gems and drop them in the brazier with their actions this round.

Hopefully the in-game post answered those questions, at least for the current action.

Generally, though, I'd say climbing up or down a statue would be a full-round action. A person could always jump down, of course, which would incur 1d4 of damage. It ends up being a moot point as far as climbing the other statue is concerned. Since only one stone can be taken at a time, it doesn't matter whether Scarlett could have climbed the other statute and grabbed a stone.

Lar dazed a bit shakes it off and says, "I lady scarlett, If you can look the chest over by all means. If there are things strahd is guarding and securing that can help us defeat him we must retrieve them. Perhaps the rest of us can wait outside the room just in case and we can place something on the floor to keep the door from closing all the way so it's ajar a bit too."

Behold Lar the paladin, brave and bold: "You should check out that trapped chest. We'll, uh, wait outside."

BTW, I assume everyone will be mostly absent this weekend. I'm also starting a new gig on Monday, so posting may slow down a bit or a lot. We'll see how it goes, but expect delays for a while. Thanks.
