OK, thanks. Just reiterating that it's Hallagad that has the ring of regen. Not sure if this is some weird hell effect or something, but I thought I'd let you know.
Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk II
Dang it. I don't know why I keep getting Malibran and Hallagad confused. I'll go fix it.

Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk II
I get names with the same number of letters confused all the time.
And I could never keep Angus and Arnulf straight.

That was a tough fight. This module is gonna be hell.Rex wrote:Xale is almost a corpse.
Raven, rather than move Xale, the monk could throw Malibran a rope?
If we rest now, maybe we go back up on deck? I hope we can heal naturally here.

That's a good idea. May give us a little bit of protection on the ledge or back a bit the way we came. If they can teleport in and out then something to be mindful of - though not sure how to protect against it.

Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk II
If I recall correctly, I believe that demons and devils (and many other extra-planar creatures) that die on the Prime Material Plane end up back in their home plane, in this case Hell, and often suffer some sort of penalty, i.e. being unable to leave their home plane for a period of time. If they die at home, things are different. Devils and demons that die in Hell are permanently dead. As a result, they may employ different tactics. Knowing that death at that point is true death, running away seems like a decent option. Then again, they may be even more vicious, as they are literally fighting for their immortal life.Zhym wrote:Using Speak with Dead on an infernal corpse raises some metaphysical questions. Usually, the spell assumes that the deceased has some sort of afterlife from which it can talk to the caster. If a devil dies in Hell, is there anything left to talk to? If so, where is it? Back in Hell? How is that different from being a "live" demon in Hell?
I'll let the spell work if you choose to use it, but it's one of those spells that get more interesting when cast in the lower planes.
tl;dr: Kill Orcus in Greyhawk, Orcus disappears back to Hell. Kill Orcus in Hell, Orcus disappears forever.

Thanks - I won't cast speak w/ dead until at least we are rested and healed back up - god knows what will happen. It's a thought to try it out on one of these creatures to ask what traps and terrors may lie ahead in this ship if at all possible... may only get twisted lies to be sure...

Hey,
Just a heads up: I'm away for work for a few days. So if I'm quiet you know why. I might be able to get online. Don't know yet.
Either way, I'm back on Wednesday.
If I'm holding things up, please NPC my character for me. Thanks.

Sorry about the lack of update, everyone. My wife and I took a weekend trip to New York and somehow I didn't end up having time to update the game.
Is everyone agreed on the plan to sleep in the bunk room? What's your watch schedule, if you're keeping a watch?

Bunk room is fine with me. Xale needs to rest and regain his spells.

Bunk room works for me as well. As for a watch order idk i gotta study the spellbook to get new spells for the ones i used.

Bunk room is fine. Khogeki will take first watch, so the casters can get rested up.
He'll self-heal, using Weird Monk Power #182b.
Self healing: [1d4+10] = 2+10 = 12
Thanks!

Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk II
Where will Malibran put the glyph (floor, door, etc.) and what should the effect and name be? Please see the house rules for more info, but basically, Malibran can create a glyph with any effect he can cast as a spell, or he can have the glyph do 2 points per level of fire, electrical, or cold damage.ravenn4544 wrote:Malibran will cast glyph of warding outside of the area they are resting up in (I forgot where on the map the bunks where).

Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk II
Can you kindly remind me where the bunks where? I remember the skeletons and the boats but that was it.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk II
Here's a map from earlier in your explorations. Room 2 has enough bunks from 20 man-sized creatures:

Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk II
Thanks - the glyph will cover the intersection between the rooms numbered 3 and the northern passage that bisects these. it will favor the area towards the door of the bunk room if the glyph dimensions allow it. Electrical damage will be used. The name to deactivate the glyph will be "proctect nocere nos"
