OOC Chat IV
Re: OOC Chat III
We appear to be stalled.
Are you resting for another day and night, or heading back to the Morlock area today (game day)?

Re: OOC Chat III
Perhaps the more seriously injured among us should make the call.

Re: OOC Chat IV
None of Farmanus' stuff is perishable. It'll keep. As long as the rations hold out, maybe another day of rest will help ensure a successful outcome to retrieving his equipment.
Re: OOC Chat IV
Denslow: Another day of rest with the day spent learning to use the artifacts would be good.
Re: OOC Chat IV
How do the mechanics work again for one person teaching another how to use an artifact? Can we backdate someone trying to teach Kurot to use the blaster and the grenade, or can we only do that if we rest another day?
Re: OOC Chat IV
The character must roll a 10 or more on 1d20 + Artifact Roll modifier.Zhym wrote:How do the mechanics work again for one person teaching another how to use an artifact? Can we backdate someone trying to teach Kurot to use the blaster and the grenade, or can we only do that if we rest another day?
If they fail, they must wait 24 hours before trying again.
A "1" is a Critical Failure with the artifact breaking irreparably and damage inflicted as if a fumble (1) on the Artifact Roll Table
Re: OOC Chat IV
Do we combine modifiers when one person is teaching another? Or is the teaching aspect already taken into account in the target number for the roll?
Re: OOC Chat IV
There are no additional modifiers to the roll. The teaching aspect must be where the Difficulty Class of 10 is derived from.Zhym wrote:Do we combine modifiers when one person is teaching another? Or is the teaching aspect already taken into account in the target number for the roll?

I'm moving forward with the group resting another day and night at your current location.
Please indicate any actions you will perform during this time (such as learning to use and artifact) in the game thread.

Re: OOC Chat IV
It may be a lost cause, but can Farmanus learn how to use any artifacts?
What rolls would be necessary?
With an INT of 6, the MCC book says Farmanus' max tech level is 1. I assume this precludes him from even trying an artifact check on a blaster or a grenade. Yes?

Yes, or the character level whichever is higher.Yrkoon wrote:With an INT of 6, the MCC book says Farmanus' max tech level is 1. I assume this precludes him from even trying an artifact check on a blaster or a grenade. Yes?

Re: OOC Chat IV
Update coming this week. I'm behind due to R.L.
Re: OOC Chat IV
What kind of attack roll would be needed to try to knock out one of the lights with an arrow or rifle shot?
Re: OOC Chat IV
Base AC is 14.Zhym wrote:What kind of attack roll would be needed to try to knock out one of the lights with an arrow or rifle shot?
Attack roll is +1d (ex. 1d24) plus appropriate modifiers.

Folks:
I wanted to thank everyone for their unwitting help this last month.
On August 10th, my wife died of colon cancer. I was hit pretty hard, as you can imagine. Getting on this site every day and participating in the games has been a solid anchor of normalcy for me. I'm still adjusting- and will be for the forseeable future. But these games, and you folks, have helped me get through the worst of it.
Don't worry that you said something which might have hurt me. You didn't. Even if you had, you didn't know, so don't worry 'bout it.
