001 - Rafting upriver to Bulford
001 - Rafting upriver to Bulford
The trip will take two days. A few hours out, you spot a trachodon grazing reeds in a slow spot along the river bank.
Mudbill knows that these large creatures generally ignore river folk, only attacking to defend their young. They are related to dragons and are intelligent.

Garden waves at the traceon. Scans the area to see if there are threats.
Re: 001 - Rafting upriver to Bulford
Eggbert feels a little worried about the creature, but he just goes along. He looks around, to see the surroundings

Wulgar merely watches and admires the trachodon looking out to make sure there is no young that it might think is being attacked as they flow by on the boat. "Magnificent creatures aren't they." he says.

Drest
"Agreed my friend, truly magnificent." Drest will keep an eye out for more likely threats.

Re: 001 - Rafting upriver to Bulford
You pass the trachodons peacefully. The following day around mid-day you spot a group of sable riders that have come down to the river to replenish their water supply. The riders are dismounted and filling their bota bags. The sables are a bit downstream drinking.
Re: 001 - Rafting upriver to Bulford
Eggbert waves to the riders, friendly.
"Hey friends, hows going? Any news from the waters?"

Drest
Not feeling talkative, Drest just watches as they pass the riders.

Wulgar merely gives them a little fighters salute and otherwise remains silent.

Mudbill counts how many riders there are, and whether they are armed for war or maybe hauling bags of spoils. Unless they look like a threat he'll be friendly.
"Yes, how do? Have you come from upriver? Any news?"

There are 4 sable riders. The Sable Riders have welcomed the Lunar presence in Prax and are rather full of themselves.
They laugh at the bison rider demeaning himself by taking a boat.
They don't seem ready to be hostile, but they certainly aren't being friendly.

Garden keeps an eye on the sable riders. Watching to see if they trail after us.ffilz wrote:There are 4 sable riders. The Sable Riders have welcomed the Lunar presence in Prax and are rather full of themselves.

Wulgar waits patiently taking in the sites along the way.

Re: 001 - Rafting upriver to Bulford
As we pass, Mudbill steers the boat to the middle of the river, hoping to stay outside of bow range.

Soon you arrive at Bulford.

Bullford
A fortified market town at a ford on the upper Zola Fel River, Bullford has about 500 residents. It is the main ford of the Zola Fel between New Pavis and the Leaping Place Falls. It is the seat of the Sartarite Bullford clan, who control access to the Pairing Stones, the most important Orlanthi holy place in Prax outside of New Pavis.
You enter the town, as a market town, there are a couple places you might stay, though none will be particularly welcoming to the ducks. Wulgar has heard the Smiling Broo is probably the most friendly to Bison Riders. The other place is the Drifting Cradle.

Garden heads to the smiling broo. Taking the duck with him. " We outsiders should stick together."

Wulgar agrees "Yes a good drink. I could go for a few." the big man follows Drest.
